Others say...
"yuck" I LOVE my Tassimo but the Suchard's hot chocolate is just not good. I use the Tassimo for hot water and add whatever hot chocolate mix I happen to have from the grocery store. They're all better than Suchard's. It's weak, watery, and has very little chocolate flavor. I'm surprised Gevalia and Tassimo lend their names to this product. I tried one pod. I'm not sure what I'll do with the ones I have left. It's so bad that I don't even want to use them up. Sorry, Suchard. "Delicious!" I think this hot chocolate is very rich and tastes great!! Highly recommend this product. "mocha-chino!" let me start by saying, i'm not a huge hot chocolate fan. But i was surprised to see so many negative reviews for this product--so that is part of why i wanted to try it. i think it's the perfect blend for a mocha.. here was my recipe (note that it's for 2 people) one latte milk pod: split it between two glasses, one hot chocolate syrup: split it between the two glasses, 1 espresso pod per glass. and voila, a great mocha! "Watery & Too sweet" The title of the review really sums this up. This seems a little sweet and just a hair watery. Not horrible, but for as infrequently as I make Hot Chocolate, I would simply opt for heating up some milk on the stove, or go with a microwave cup of hot water and an instant packet. When I purchased my Tassimo machine a year or 2 ago, I also purchased a wide range of discs. These are the only discs that remain from that original batch, and I've cycled through most of the others several times. I recently had a young niece and nephew visit, who are grade school age, who enjoyed this.....so if you have some spare cupboard space...you can keep some around, but overall there might be room in the market for a Latte based version of this. "Ick!" This hot chocolate was watery and had a chemical after-taste! My husband agreed. I gave it 2 stars rather than one because I did finish the cup and didn't gag, but I probably won't finish my other discs, I'll save them for unwelcome visitors.

Gevalia Suchard Hot Chocolate T-Disc 1316
Special offer for you..find the cheapest!
nelzeva from NY, United States offers this stuff for:
J&R Music and Computer World offers this stuff with condition New, new for:
What our customer's say! "My Kids think these other Reviewers are NUTS!!!", My kids (Boy 13 & Girl 11) like Hot Chocolate / Hot Cocoa. They have tried Powders / Syrups, Denny's, Starbucks, etc. They both LOVE the Suchard Hot Chocolate. My Son Straight Up, My Daughter with some Marshmallows. I have also used it in coffee drinks. Aka Caffe Mocha. Adding an Espresso works pretty good. You can also hit the brew button to end the Brewing 1/2 way through and it will empty the Contents into the Mug, Then fill up the other 1/2 of the Mug with a Smaller Serve size Crema Coffee like the Mastro Lorenza Crema... Very Good stuff. It will make a small mess on your pierce unit, so be sure to clean up after making one. "Suchard Hot Chocolate T Disc 1316", The mechanics of the disc work great in the Tassimo machine. But, it's too sweet and tastes a little fakey to me. Will not replace my hot chocolate discs when I run out. Frankly, instant powdered hot cocoa tasted better to me than this! Will keep my tassimo, as I love it, but will stick with making regular coffee, hot tea, mochas from an espresso & milk disc and a few squirts of hersheys syrup. "Good as "Hot Chocolate" but mediocre "Hot Cocoa"", West-coast Americans often use the terms "Hot Chocolate" and "Hot Cocoa" interchangeably, but technically (and legally) they are somewhat different products. Depending on the recipe Hot Chocolate tends to be a thin but strongly flavored drink, whereas Hot Cocoa is typically thicker but gently milk-chocolate flavored. Suchard's imitates the darker flavor of old-world Hot Chocolate, rather than the popular flavor of Hot Cocoa. So you might be justifiably disappointed if you're expecting flavor like Carnation or Swiss Miss (popular Hot Cocoa mixes). But you might be pleased if you want a darker, stronger flavor than your usual supermarket cocoa. As Hot Chocolate goes, I found Suchard's very reminiscent of dark chocolates (like Hershey's "Special Dark") but overly sweet (again, like Hershey's "Special Dark"). It blends nicely with espresso, but it's a bit cloying on its own. Compared to Hot Cocoa, Suchard's doesn't have the thick texture a Carnation-lover might expect. It doesn't taste milky or creamy, although there are milk ingredients. Judged solely as a traditional Hot Chocolate, Suchard's T-Discs are very good but not quite excellent. But they're a poor substitute for Carnation or Swiss Miss if you prefer Hot Cocoa. "Chemical Aftertaste! Blech....", I should have listened to the reviews on these hot chocolate pods, they aren't very good at all. To me, they had a slight chemical aftertaste which was really strange! I'll definitely stick to the other t-discs, every other flavor I've tried so far has been great except this one! "A fine chocolate for mixing coffee beverages", I'm afraid that many of the negative reviews about this product rather miss the point. They even state on the Tassimo website that these discs are best used with the addition of marshmallows or milk, but even without this information, most people would be able to figure it out for themselves. The Suchard disc contains chocolate syrup. It has no milk, no cream, and no non-dairy creamer. When most people think of "hot chocolate," they think of a drink that's made with milk, no? Just like a latte or a cappucino requires the addition of milk. Yet for some reason the same people who think nothing of adding milk to make a cappucino can't figure out that they need to do the same to make hot chocolate. Baffling. Use of the Suchard disc without the addition of milk or cream (either the Tassimo milk discs or regular milk) will have the same result as diluting Hershey's syrup with water. Expecting it to taste anything like Swiss Miss or similar packaged cocoas containing powdered milk is unrealistic and unfair. This product is even better used with powdered milk or non-dairy creamer, as it has a richer flavor due to less dilution that way. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "not the greatest", it definitely is not the best cup of chocolate. Seemed watery to me. But you can always add milk or cream I guess. "Great taste", This product has great taste and flavor! It brings home the flavor Christmas morning! "Great-but requires goodies like Coffee", This is good hot chocolate in general-but is different tasting that u will expect compared to hershey's or swiss miss. So like coffee u may have to add a dash of something else, like a dollop of cream or marshmallow or touch of milk. ![]() |
