"Good for microwaving", We bought this plate to use in the microwave. There have been some reports on the dangers of heating up food in the microwave in plastic containers. It's hard to know how serious a problem it really is but using this plate and Corelle bowls seemed like a good, inexpensive alternative to plastics. So far they've done a fine job and they're suppose to be chip and break resistant. The red goes with the color scheme of our kitchen the current color du jour.
