"Nissan thermos -- it's the best!" Bar none. . . this is the best thermos. . .as well as travel thermos. . . ever! Keeps my coffee hot nearly all day!!!!!! It's amazing. . . I'm sure it's just as efficient with cold beverages. To get through airline security, all I do is remove the top, lay the canister and the top down with my shoes, cell phone, etc. Goes right through security. Then I fill it up with coffee, gate-side, place it back in my briefcase (it will not leak!)and I'm set for HOURS. . . I have recommended this Nissan travel thermos to many. . . look it up by Nissan thermos -- then it's listed under "backpack" and "leakproof" and I believe it's 16 ounces in size. It's terrific. . . "Best thermos" The Nissan backpack bottle is great. It doesn't leak, ever. It keeps things hot or cold for a very long time. Hot things actually seem to get hotter even though I'm told that can't happen. "Just what I was looking for" I would bring a large thermos filled with coffee to work everyday and decided that was too much coffee to be drinking. So I wanted a travel mug that would help limit my consumption. I chose this one because of it's design, it being leakproof according to reviews and able to fit into a coat pocket or cup holder. My observations are: This thermos does not leak. I've had it horizontal in my pocket many times and I've never had a leak. I have the confidence to put it in the front of my pants upside down. I probably won't though. It retains heat a LONG TIME. My wife had that highly rated OXO travel mug and your hot drink becomes cold within two hours or so. This one stays hot all work day. No lie. I can get to work at 9 and leave the top open on it and it still stays hot into the afternoon. I am really impressed with this. If keeping your coffee hot for a long time is the reason you're looking for a new mug, this is the one to get. it's stylish as well. I thought I'd miss having a handle, but I don't. It turns out that the handle just gets into the way a lot. Some handled travel mugs don't fit very well into vehicle cupholders. This one has no problem fitting snugly into a cupholder. This product is recommended! "The BEST Little Thermos You Can Buy" Rejoice all you sufferers of leaky thermos bottles that don't keep the liquid hot or cold as the case may be. I have tried for years to find a thermos bottle that won't leak -- this little jewel is it. I am a serious coffee drinker and I have jostled this thing around carrying it upside down, throwing it around, etc., -- it never leaks, and it doubles as a travel mug. Coffee stays warm for 8 hours or so. Buy it! You will be happy you did. "Leaks" I was so excited when I first found this "leak-proof" thermos - what a great idea. Unfortunately after occasional use for about one year it now leaks... The name would seem to imply leaking is the one thing it should not do. When I do try to use it, I end up with coffee all over my car, clothes, desk, etc.. Shucks.

What our customer's say! "Design is not commuter-friendly", Forgive me for being blunt, but this mug is in no way friendly to drinking your joe on a commute to work. In fact, I can't see it being useful as a "backpack" bottle, unless you're carrying a shot of something really fancy, because it just doesn't hold much of anything. But I digress. The lid on this thing is ridiculous. It is a hinged pop-top, like what you'd find on a breadmaker, and it's nearly 2 inches thick. I'm a small girl, and I can hardly fit my face into the tiny, deeply recessed drinking trough; my nose bumps against the dang top contraption. If you're sitting on a bus, you have to open and close this thing every time you want a sip, which means flipping the little metal lock off, pushing the button, and spronging the top open. When the top is open, the whole cap of the thing is 5.5 inches across. If you were driving in your car and wanted to sip your coffee, you'd have to pull over, because you cannot see around the breadmaker top. Funny too, it boasts the canister is shaped to fit the average vehicle's cup-holder, but they neglected to mention that it likely would not (or would probably tip itself over) with the top open. Talk about top-heavy. I would not have bought this mug had there been photos of it with the top open. I'll post some of my own. -disgruntled. "Just bought a replacement!", I've had one for a year, and use it every day. Unfortunately, I got into the habit of closing it by popping the lid open and using it as a lever to spin and tighten the top. That caused the hinge to break. As it was my fault, I cannot blame Thermos. I just bought a replacement I'll be more careful about. (I'll still close it with the top open to relieve air pressure, but by holding the part that attaches to the base, not the lid.) Highly recommended! "Hot and unbothered", I've been searching and searching. I've plunked down more dollars than I care to admit on one mug after another. I'm glad I didn't give up. I *love* this thing. It really, really does not leak, drip, etc. Zip. Nada. And the one-handed flip-open cap works like a champ. I only hope that I don't lose it someplace and that it keeps performing. Noting another reviewer's complaint that their's began to leak after a year of use, I have to wonder if maybe the rubber seal just wore out from use. I'm going to keep an eye on mine, and see what I can do to get replacements just in case. I'd consider that a reasonable maintenance item. The only "negative" is the fact that it keeps my coffee so scorching hot for so long that I've almost burned myself a few times. "Nissan leak-proof thermos", Great product. Does exactly what it says it will. Have been using mine a couple of weeks. No leaks and my coffee (made about 6am) is still pretty darn hot at 4 in the afternoon! Pretty impressive. I love it. "Best Thermos EVER !", This thermos rocks! Keeps your beverage nearly scalding hot for 2 hours, and warm and enjoyable for 4 or more. I'm super picky about my coffee being warm, and this product keeps me from having to microwave my coffee 7 times before I finish it. The one thing to be careful of is to screw the lid on properly...if not, it may leak. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great on the Bike, or the Trail!", I've used this bottle for the last month, and it's been great. I commute to work by bike, and carry my coffee in the backpack bottle in one of my water bottle holders. The backpack bottle is a little smaller than a standard water bottle, so I cut the top off of an old bottle and just slide the backpack bottle down into that. It keeps the coffee hot for hours, and won't spill. It's been dropped a couple of times, but never leaked and doesn't look any the worse for wear. Tomorrow, I'm planning on going on a snowshoe trip, and I'm looking forward to having hot coffee out on the trail thanks to this brilliant bottle. "Really is leak-proof!", I purchased this item because I am tired of leaky travel cups. I can fill the Thermos Nissan to the top, close the lid, and throw it in my purse in it's side without a problem. The coffee stays very hot for hours, even without benefit of a pre-heat. Highly recommend! "Best Thermos!", I love this Thermos!! I can take hot coffee to work in the morning and it is still hot in the afternoon. I also love the fact that you do not have to worry about breaking the glass interior. A different thermos that I purchased through a different company, broke the first time I used it - glass everywhere. I am waiting to buy a second one for my husband but they are out of stock right now (August 07). I cannot wait for them to come back in so I can order one for him too! I recommend this thermos to everyone! "Love it!", This keeps my toddler's milk nice and cool in the summer heat. It rolls around in the diaper bag and has never spilled. Since I keep milk in it, though, the lid has gotten a little smelly, but an overnight soak in some dish detergent water solved that problem. I'm looking forward to using it myself once my baby outgrows it! "Best mug ever!", My aunt has had one of these for years and loved it. I started using it because it kept my coffee warm all morning into lunch hour. It works really well if you heat it first with really hot water and then pour your coffee/tea in. It fits in my car cup holder too. My aunt took her mug back so I bought 2 more on Amazon and they were delivered within the week. Great product and i would recommend it to anyone! |
