Most auto drip makers don't even come close to the perfect temperature of 195-202 degrees to extract the full flavor of the beans. By using the Chemex and water straight off the boil from the tea kettle I and not only obtain the correct temperature, I can also make sure that all the grinds are being equally saturated, something that auto drip electric coffee makers also fall short of. It takes up no counter space, looks like modern art in glass form, and the handle is so much better than their other models that require trying to grip the wooden collar. The handle stays cool to the touch.
