"Great Blender"
This is the best blender I've ever owned. It really does the job. My old one would always leave chunks behind. The blade design is different in this blender and it really gets all the way to the edge. It is a little heavy because the base under the glass carafe does not disconnect. It also collects water in this area after being washed and takes a while to dry. However, it's still a great blender and I would recommend it!

"Blender leaks"
Leaks__!, October 19, 2008
By Valerie A. Jones "She who reads a lot" (Virginia Beach, VA USA) - See all my reviews

This is very frustrating--I wish I'd read more of the reviews here to learn that this blender leaks.

We've used it almost every day for a month. Even when we think it's assembled as tight as can be, it still leaks. When re-assembling it, I've taken to blending soapy water first--if THAT leaks, it's not such a mess. If it's "safe," then I blend the smoothies. Smoothies are a lot messier to clean up.

What a hassle. Not worth $200 at this point--if it didn't leak it might be, as the blending power is better than average.

"Pretty, but Unreliable"
I just repackaged my second Ikon 600XL. I'm taking it back. It doesn't work reliably. Sometimes it works great. Other times it would not turn off unless I pulled the plug from the wall. The second one had a strange habit of pulsing everything, so there was no "constant on" for any of the settings. One other thing: this baby is XL tall. My cabinets are higher off the counter than in most kitchens, so check your clearance before buying this blender.

I liked the glass container, the style, and the small footprint. The buttons sure were pretty. It looked as good on my counter as my KitchenAid mixer, too. But, what good is pretty when it doesn't work properly?

"Great blender for the price!"
It was between this and the much more expensive Vita-mix. Breville won. I love the glass container vs. plastic, and that this can be fully taken apart for cleaning. I routinely make nut milks with soaked almonds, and green smoothies with kale, and this powerful little machine does a beautiful job on both: nice creamy results. The ice crushing function really breaks up those tough foods (and ice, of course) for further reduction using the other functions.

I didn't have any difficulty unscrewing the blade structure from the container, as others seem to have had. And I like the fact that the seal is quite tight, and doesn't leak. For all its power, it's pretty quiet: it replaced a Cuisinart blender that literally required I wear ear plugs for its operation.

This is a dandy machine, and I'm very happy with it. You might be too.

"Excellent Product"
The blender is everything one could wish for in a product like this. It is very well made, beautiful to look at, and does any blending job asked of it. High tech and quality is what the unit is all about. Easy to clean.

What our customer's say!

"The Best Blender - ever!", This is the best bender we have ever had. Cannot praise this one enought. Makes anything to perfection and is quiet. Looks great too.

"This blender ROCKS!!!!!", This is the best blender I have ever bought. My husband ordered it after having dinner with friends who had one... this is a first already as he never has much interest in appliances... so for something to impress him enough to search out and buy it is not him. Once we use it, I am in love!!! It makes shakes, smoothies and ritas like no other! No more airpockets and taking it off and banging on counter top to settle mixture back to bottom... On smoothie mode, it does it for you!! AWESOME!!

"Unquestionably the best blender I've used", After much research and hand-wringing, I finally made the plunge and ordered 750-watt Breville blender from Amazon back in May 2008. Now that six months have passed, I figured I'd weigh in on my experience. I'm pleased to say that my comments echo most of the others here - this is an incredibly powerful, reliable, and easy-to-maintain appliance. I use it to make smoothies about 4 times per week and it handles the task effortlessly and without flaw.

I have owned two KitchenAid blenders since the early 90s (since I *thought* that was the premier blender brand at the time) and was always disappointed by the lack of smoothness in the final, blended product. No worries on that point with the Breville - the pre-programmed "Smoothie" function goes for a full minute and finishes off any chunks/large pieces along the way. Breville's advertising emphasizes the fact that their blending blades are unique in their ability to fully blend everything; this appears to be true and not marketing hyperbole.

I thought I had a leaking problem at one point, but it turns out that I simply didn't re-assemble the jar tightly enough after washing it. It is worth mentioning how well it comes apart for cleaning - it was designed with this in mind and is just another example of the great amount of thought that obviously went into this product.

At this point, I'm a full-fledged Breville convert.

"second time's the charm", When I got the blender, it worked for 3 days, and then would only stay on for 3 seconds before stopping (except on ice crush.) I called Breville. They said they would send me a replacement citing mechanical failure. After I dropped it off at Fed X, it took about 4 weeks for the replacement to come. So far, it works great. The smoothie function rocks!

"Great Blender!", After reading most of the reviews I decided to purchase this blender. I bought it about a week ago, and have been using it every day to make smoothies. It's a very powerful blender, and you don't have to babysit it as it's doing it's thing. It also doesn't leave any chunks of ice or fruit behind which is great! My only complaint is the rubber gasket, it may leak on you if you don't have it on right.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"great product", My wife and I use this blender to make smoothies maybe 3-4 times a week. It has never let us down makes great smoothies - very smooth - no left over chunks - and easy to clean. We have had this product for about a year and it still works like when we bought it. I am big on buying nice stuff once and having it last. This blender so far has proven the task.

"Blender Supreme", My wife was tired of wearing out cheap blenders that barely did the job when new. This, not cheap, blender does the job with power to spare. She is happy with it. If she's happy, I'm happy.

"Finally, the blender search is over", I bought this blender from Amazon after seeing the ratings at Consumer Reports. We have had it since November of 2007. We have had no problems with it. My wife makes shakes with it regularly. She throws in the ingredients, hits a button, and the results are pretty darn close to perfect. No spooning, shaking, or swearing. Ice handling is nothing short of impressive. Nice product, very well made. If this one ever wears out, (I don't think it is going to) I would get another one.

"Better than advertised!", This blender is better than advertised. I researched many blenders all over the net and this blender beats them all hands down. I highly recommend this blender. Great job, Breville!

"Incredible Blender", My husband and I had given up on the idea of finding a blender worth purchasing, when we stumbled on the video review posted on this page and thought "ok .. lets give it a try". This is truly an incredible blender.

There were some negatives posted in early reviews - one of which involved how difficult the blade was to tighten after removing for cleaning. Breville solved this and the blender now includes a tightening tool.

I have to say that if you want snow made of your ice for the most incredible smoothies I can not imagine a blender made more capable then this. Smooth is the operative word here. We did not though purchase this with only dinks in mind. My husband used it to smoothen a curry base a fe days after we got it, which yielded one of the nicest homemade curries in its consistency.

We have only had this now for a couple of months so I can not speak for its durablity just yet but I can not imagine this product failing to meet up to all of its promises given its performance so far.

I believe that this blender is well worth the investment, although to be honest I had to get my head around the cost before purchasing it.
