"A great bargain!"
I purchased this food processor on sale recently and really like it! I've used it to puree veggies and think it does a nice job. Perhaps it's not for heavy duty cooking, but I don't need it for that. I haven't used the chop or shred attachment yet, but definitely plan to! My only complaint is that it's pretty loud, but for $39.99, I'm very content!

"Stay away"
While the look of the product is nice, the thing died very quickly. The universal motor is durable and strong enough to handle the job, but the dinky plastic gear is way too weak (looks like delrin to try to reduce the noise). Mistakenly I turned on the processor while the spare blade and disc stem was inside the unit. The noise was awful and the damage was great. The food chute broke off the tabs and the 10-cup container was marred inside and broke the latching mechanism. While this was an embarrassing mistake for me, as a mechanical engineer myself, it is always my duty to design consumer products to handle this type of user error. This processor is not designed to be forgiving and my guess is that if you do a lot of dough mixing, the gear will not survive very long and you will end with a broken machine in a very short period of time.

We'll see how B&D customer service will respond and if they are willing to fix it.

"Black Decker Food Processor Power Pro 11"
The first time I used this food processor I found it very hard to latch the lid. The second time I tried to latched the lid the little, flimsy plastic catches on the bowl snapped off. This leaves the food processor absolutely useless as it will not operate without the latches being secured. This is a badly designed product and if I am still able to return it I certainly will. If not it will have to go in the trash. I should have bought a Kitchen Aid or Cuisinart.

What our customer's say!

"looked great, but was absolutely junk ", I also bought the black and decker stainless and black food processor.
I previously had for many years La Machine by Moulinex. I got a small crack in the La Machine bowl part and so I then bought the new black and decker powerpro2 500 watts.
I wish I had not thrown away my La Machine, the black and decker
latch broke on the first use and the disc blade came apart on the second use. it is a piece of junk. I put it in the trash.

"good starter product",
This is my first food processor. I use it daily and it seems to work just fine for the simple tasks I need it to do. I do wish it had an on/off button and I wish the feeder was bigger. I have to cut items fairly small to get them to fit through the feeder.

"poor quality and design, do not recommend", The price was certainly interesting, just under $[...] compared to a Kitchen Aid, $[...].
The design problem I find is that the cover has a double lip, that is there the cover is both inside and outside the bowl. Another way to describe it is the bowl ends up inserted in the cover. The problem with this is that it is a pain to clean because nothing will fit in this cover crease but a brush. I've never had that on my previous processors, the cover just fit around the bowl.
A worst problem which is why I don't recommend it is that it's the second time I use this and there are rust spots appearing on the blade... cheapy cheapy. The good news is that I can return it to the store becaus it's clearly crap!

"good product at bargain price", After reading several bad reviews I had decided not to get it - even though, at the price, 10 cup size and strong engine power of 500 watts it seemed the best deal compared to other brands that cost twice as much, or even more.

Anyway, I had written it off until I happened to see a unit on display at Target and was able to touch it and inspect it for myself. It looked perfectly fine to me. The blade seemed thick and sturdy. I checked out how the lid opens and closes etc and couldn't find anything visibly wrong with it. Maybe you have to get used to it, and not use brute force on any parts, but it's not rocket science. So I ended up buying it.

When I tried it out at home I was careful not to force any parts. There are two safety features. The first one is that the lid needs to be locked. The second one is that the cup needs to be locked as well, with the handle aligned in the front (as seen in the product picture above). If it's not in that position it won't start!!! At first mine wouldn't start, and I thought I had bought a lemon - until I figured it out. (Yeah, I don't read product manuals either).

It's been only 2 days, but so far it's been working just fine. I don't know what kind of miracles other "more advanced" machines can perform, but I am happy with what this unit does for me: it chops up stuff!

Is it loud? I can only compare it to my Oster blender. It's less noisy than the blender. After a few uses I became more familiar with working the lid etc. I'll be using it a lot and should it break down anytime soon I guarantee I will back here posting about it. Until then, this one gets two thumbs up. It's a solid product and a bargain at this price.

"good product ", I bought this processor about 1 month ago and I have used it several times in it's diferent tasks and modes: made dough for bread and pizza, chopped beef, sliced and puree vegetables, etc. and can tell you people who gave it 1 star review that it is not fair, basically because you mistreated and broke the machine in the first place!. I am very pleased with the results I have obtained from this nicely designed machine; it is not a heavy duty device,it is made for home use, but it has enough power (500 watts motor) to handle all the tasks it is designed for.Price is very reasonable. Mr. Vadim Romanovich (mechanical engineer), I hope you are not working for NASA, BOEING, CESNA or designing parachute products at the moment, I'm sure you could bring great adventures and extreme excitement to the innocent frequent travelers and consumers..., and the person identified "Dissapointed" I picture you as a 93 year old, good looking, tall, short sighted with the spectacles on but very dirty, which makes you a little bit clumsy.
