I needed a new ironing board cover, but because I try to avoid buying things that need ironing, I only wanted to find one that was functional without spending a mint. I chose the Sunbeam cover based on the high rating and prior reviews and now that I have mine, I can confirm that it fits great and the thickness of the pad really does make ironing easier. I initially looked locally for covers, but they were more expensive and low quality, so I'm very pleased with this cover. It even has a nice looking geometric pattern, which I wasn't expecting.

My son recently shredded the paper thin piece of foam that was the 'pad' to my ironing board. So I have been in search of a decent ironing board pad and cover. I am very impressed with this product, especially for the price! The pad is attached to the cover, and in encased with a silky type (nylon?) lining on the backside, so there will be no more shredding of the foam. The padding is also quite thick. The fit is fast and perfect on my standard board. It almost makes me want to iron! :) A few other observances: the pad just comes to the edge of the board, and just the fabric wraps around the sides. I think that this will keep the cover on tight and keep it from slipping around. The pattern is hard to see in the pictures, but it is a wavy casual check pattern of white pinstripes. The cover doesn't seem to be treated with anything...just appears to be a nice quality plain cotton. (No aluminum or silicon coating.) But if I ever choose to purchase a fancy cover, I will probably slip it on over this one to keep the nice cushy padding!
