"About Time"
I have used a pressure cookers for years. I gave my old one to my sester-law. then I order the one from the man who cooks for the starts. That was terrible. It was flimsy and hard to keep the pressure. The Cuisinart is fantastic, it's well built and so easy to operate. The first night I received it I made squash soup, it took twenty minutes in the other cooker and 10 in the Cuisinart. I really love it. I know I will enjoy it for years. John Sizemore Charleston, South Carolina

"Fantastic time saver"
Cooked my first meal, cooked a chicken stew in 15 minutes!
This is a real time saver and the food tastes great.
Great investment.

"Electric Pressure Cooker"
Great new break through in pressure cookers. Bought for wife, she loves it. Had a manual pressure cooker for many many years, now she would never go back, this one takes the chore out of cooking. Just set it and let it go.

"super fast, high quality appliance"
I have been the cook in my house of 6 for 30 years. This appliance has made cooking time all but go away. Stew in less than 1 hour, corned beef in 82 min. Buy this high quality appliance, it is worth th $130. Very safe, you or your family members cannot open it while there is any pressure in the pot, many safety's built in....the book that is in the box is your guide to cooking a dinner in less than 45 min for a one pot meal!

"Hefty price, but worth it "
This [ASIN:B000MPA044 Cuisinart CPC-600 1000-Watt 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker, Brushed Stainless and Matte Black]]replaces a 20+ year-old stove-top pressure cooker. I kind of miss the sputter, whoosh, and clatter of that venerable old pot, for the Cuisinart electric is almost stealth-mode quiet. For its first use I picked a really tough cut of meat (normally takes a full 2.5 hrs in regular non-pressure pot)and it was done perfectly in 22 minutes flat. The removable cooking container is a great convenience, as are the braising/browning features. The accompanying directions could be a little clearer (illustrations are for the super-sighted)and it took a little time to get the hang of it, but this is a really excellent unit, nicely designed, well worth its cost.

What our customer's say!

"unit does not work", I have had two cuisinart pressure cookers shipped to me. the first one cooked for on week and then quit working. The second was delivered today and it does not turn on. I have tried to work with Amazon customer service and can not believe it. I always shopped with Amazon because of their customer servce. Now you talk to someone in India who does not have a clue. Amazon is a total disappointment. I have been on hold waiting for a supervisor for 20 min!!

"Would stick with stovetop", I am returning this. I have cooked with stove top pressure cookers for 15 years and thought I would give this a try. I ended up with a defective unit which sometimes happens I can understand that. Amazon has always been good at replacing unsatisfactory purchases for me. However, the Customer Service at Cuisinart was insanely poor. The person did not know much about the unit and seemed to just be reading from a script. They did not offer any helpful tips besides what I had already tried from reading the owners manual that came with this unit. Overall they were unconcerned with my dissatisfaction. Like I said,I already know how to work a pressure cooker, I want excellent manufacturer advice when I have questions.

"Cuisinart Pressure Cooker", Great pressure cooker. I wish I could buy an electric one with a larger capacity!

"Positively the best!!!", I've owned my Cuisinart Pressure Cooker for 6 months now, and I love this thing!! I have been using pressure cookers since the 1970s and I used my mother's before that. I have never been afraid of them because I was taught to use them properly. This unit is no exception. So, I will impart some little tricks on what I learned about this one.

First, you need to brown your meat, sauté your vegetables and heat any liquid to a boiling point before clamping down that lid. By doing this, the food tastes better and the pot comes to pressure in a minimum of time. Don't expect it to start from cold ingredients and not take additional time to come to pressure before cooking.
Second, all parts need to be scrupulously clean. This includes the inner lid, gasket and the locking lid itself. I put the inner lid and gasket in my dishwasher and make sure it's dry when I put it together. The locking lid needs to be cleaned under the cap that protects the pressure hole and the pressure gauge itself. No, it can't go into the dishwasher, but it still needs to be cleaned each and every time it's used. This will ensure a good seal. I also had no trouble reading the times needed to properly cook each and every different food. The manual is just fine. If you want a cookbook, buy one!

"Cusinart Divebomb", I used to trust this company and buy their products. But during the past couple of years, they seem to be taken over by the "next quarter's profits must be higher" boys. No real interest in customer service. Inferior (cost-cutting) products. Look elsewhere for kitchen appliances. Too bad. A once-great company.
Now useless.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Dinner in a hurry", Good product. Glad I didn't get anything smaller, because 6 quarts isn't as large as it sounds and a lot of the other pressure cookers are smaller. Contrary to what some of the other reviewers reported, I thought the instructions were fine. Funny thing about instructions; you have to read them. Anyhow, the removable cooking unit is great, the non-stick finish is also great, and you can put it in the dishwasher. The only problem that I have had is the little red pressure operated valve doesn't pop up as soon as I think it should. So the pressure cooker is losing steam out of this hole and won't start the pressure cooking process until the valve pops up and closes. I always stand by the cooker and tap on the case with my finger until the valve closes. The first time I used the cooker I didn't do that and it just sat there with steam coming out of the valve hole for a long time. I finally gave the lid a few taps and it popped right up. I think this is another case where so many safety devices have been added to a product to make it idiot proof that it almost keeps it from running at all. In conclusion, as long as you make sure it starts the cooking process successfully (the valve closes) it is a great cooker.

"Very nice pressure cooker", I really like this electric pressure cooker. It's great for medium size meal. It works just like it is supposed to. I've had other ones in the past and like this one the best. It's very versatile in the various cooking methods. I would definitely recommend it. This appliance really saves a lot of time cooking and preparing a meal. The browning feature is really a time saver.

"First thing I'd rescue from a kitchen fire!!", Cuisinart CPC-600 1000-Watt 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker, Brushed Stainless and Matte Black

This is the first time I have taken the time to write a review (about a kitchen product) because I love this product so much! I am famous for my twice dead rubber chicken and with this cooker I have made chicken that was not only NOT twice dead and rubber, but was actually delicious!! I have made homemade risotto 5 times using the stove top way and only ONCE out of those times was the risotto perfect. I have made it 3 times so far using the cooker (it is so darn easy and gets a 5 star yum from the family) and EVERY time is it perfect.

It is nice to have it cook as a stand alone and not to have to fiddle with it on the stove. It also browns GREAT and sautes Great and I just love this thing.

Take your time with the assembly and READ the directions and you will be able to put it together in minutes.

Love it!

"The pressures of life", I have always used a pressure cooker, as have my mother and grandmother before me. Yes, we are a long line of pressure women. I desperately wanted an electric one after my mother recieved hers from the home shopping network. I bought this one online from Amazon because I buy everything on amazon. This one is a little trickier than mom's. It is more difficult to get a seal and you have to take apart the lid, seal rings etc.. so clean up is more complex. It also takes longer to heat up and release. However, the cost was about half, and hers is unattainable any where and my have been recalled. We have used it with stews, roasts, soups, potatoes etc....After a little practice, it is no problem. If I want to cook more sizable portions, I still use the oven as I can cook 2 or 3 corned beef briskets, desert, etc... at the same time and in the same amount of time as the pressure cooker. It is best for one-pot family meals with limited left-overs. It has a pressure release so you can release fast of slow or intermittent and you don't have to carry a heavy pot to the sink and run cold water etc... This makes it much, much easier than the stove top version.

"Excellent product.", I purchased this Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker for my working daughter and son-in-law to show them how much quicker and easier life is when you cook with a pressure cooker. They've had it now almost two months and use it constantly, amazed at what a difference it has made in their lives. NOTHING beats pressure cooking for both quick preparation and taste of food.
