"2 Lemons in a row"
Didn't even get a chance to find out if it overflows or not.. the first (and second!!) one I bought did not work. The first one worked one time, then the display went dead. So I returned it. The second time I got one with a working display, however, it would not brew coffee. Sounds like Black And Decker did not even bother to quality test this product. Wish I could find another black or stainless space saver design.

"Under counter coffee maker"
Love this!! Had a problem with the filter basket not fitting well and leaking coffee all over, but contacted Amazon and they sent me a new machine and it works great!! Amazon's customer service is the BEST!!! Other retailers should take lessons from them.

"Black & Decker Coffee Maker"
We chose this product because it is one of the very few available that are under cabinet mounted. While it was a major pain to mount we finally did get it level. The coffe maker works well and produces a hot cup of joe. So far we are pleased. We are hoping it remains to work well as previous reviews state that models stopped working after a few months. Hopefully this wont happen as I am not looking forward to working with that bracket again.

"Lukewarm Coffee"
Maker fits great and looks great. However, does not make hot coffee, coffee is a lukewarm at best.

"Black and Decker ODC440b"
Had three of these go bad in less than 1 year. Always the time/clock.
If you have one that works you are lucky. When the time/clock works it seems to be an good coffe maker. Will never buy a Black and Decker product again. Can't believe the are still selling these!

What our customer's say!

"Very nice upgrades", I was a little apprehensive after some of the reviews...I guess there are a lot of people who just can't use tools out there. I thought the install was like shootin' fish in a barrel. The template is perfect, the new styling is attractive and functional. We had the older model for 8 or 9 years, I couldn't even count how many thousands of pots of coffee we must have put through it. The new one actually was much easier to install than the old one, I just hope it lasts as long. One note on the over flow problem...it's the "sneak-a-cup" feature...just take off the little lever on the bottom of the grounds basket, that disables the "sneak-a-cup" feature, but it won't over flow any more. Or...just make SURE the carafe is fully inserted and seated, you'll actually feel it click into place. Way to go Black & Decker!

"GREAT", I just want say the B&D ODC440B Spacemaker Coffee Pot is absolutely GREAT! My husband did modify the installation due to the reviews, but that was it. After reading some of the reviews before I purchased, I must say I was hesitant; but I had to replace my 20 year old B&D under the cabinet maker, so I took the chance.

"Coffee Pot", It broke within 2 weeks of using it, so I ordered another one, thinking it was a fluke. The second one quit working in a week and a half!

"This coffeemaker = Junk", We bought this coffeemaker I would guess about a year ago. Basically stated, I hate the thing. 2 reasons. First, which is not really a big deal, is that the coffeemaker is programmed to turn off after two hours. There is no way to adjust this setting. It is set by the manufacturer and you are not allowed to disable this feature. You cannot leave it on later than that unless you physically turn it off and then turn it on again. Your then good to go for another two hours, granted the coffee is getting pretty old by then. Ok, now for the major complaint and why this coffeemaker is destined for the dump. It has an unusual feature behind the carafe (coffee pitcher) that is basically a lever that is pushed in when the coffee pitcher is in place. This lever controls the aperture that the water flows through from the basket where the coffee grounds and water mix. If the pitcher is not placed on the hot plate ever so carefully then the aperture to the basket remains closed and when turn on to make a pot of freshly made coffee the water does not flow as it is suppose to. What happens next is truly why I believe this is a piece of junk. The water backs up in the coffee basket and then begins to leak out all over the kitchen counter - water, coffee, grounds - it is a mess. OK your thinking that I am a idiot and that I cannot operate a coffeemaker. Fair enough, but I will tell you that the lever, aperture, carafe feature on the coffeemaker is so touchy that if you are not diligent 100% of the time eventually you will be left with a mess to clean up. If you decide to get this coffeemaker anyway then good luck. Better yet, I will give you mine. My suggestion is to do a little more research and find a better, more reliable solution to this ever so important morning ritual of coffee making.

"Leaky", I bought this coffee maker because it was lower. I liked the design of it. Unfortunately, it leaks all over the counter, and the surface of the warming plate is coming up and sticks to the carafe. I'm getting rid of it after a month.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"best coffee ever", I had the earlier version, GE Spacemaker, of this and after 11 years is gave up the ghost. This new one is sleeker and hides under the cabinet better. It is easier to fill and fairly easy to operate. We use pure filtered water so I expect this one to last almost forever. It makes, IMHO better coffee than the gourmet "gevalia" maker we used until this arrived....only 4 days to get here. I would reccomend this coffee maker if you like the mister coffee style makers. It is simple to clean and has an excellant pour spout that does not drip.

"SPACE MAKER", This is another great coffeemaker. One small thing that is not talked about or labled is it turns off automaticlly in 2 hour. Nothing other than that.

"defect ruined my chair but it is still a good product", I have always bought and trusted black & decker and I feel confident that this is not a typical problem and even better as soon as I contacted amazon there wasd another one on the way before the burner got cool. this is the pefect product if you have limited counter space and any one can install it with 4 screws.

"leaks & completely stopped working in 12months.", I HAD READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS ABOUT LEAKING BUT I REALLY WAS DESPERATE FOR A BLACK UNDER COUNTER COFFEE MAKER & HAD GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH BLACK & DECKER UNDER COUNTERS COFFEE MAKERS IN THE PAST. WE DID HAVE LEAKING AROUND THE BASKET. SO AFTER WE STARTED SEEING DISCOLORATION ON THE COUNTER TOP WE USED A SERVING PLATTER UNDER IT. PROBLEM SOLVED....BUT AFTER 12 MONTHS IT JUST STOPPED WORKING.
NOW IF YOU RATIONALIZE LIKE I DID, THAT "THOSE PEOPLE MAY NOT HAVE MOUNTED IT LEVEL, YOU WOULD WOULD BE WRONG.

"Newer is not always better.", Black & Decker DCM2500B SmartBrew Coffeemaker
The only improvement in this NEW model is the color. It hides coffee stains. Beyond that, the clock is hard to read because it changed from LED to LCD. Very hard to see, especialy in low light. The mounting screws changed from heads on the top and not in the way to bolts sticking up into your cabinet blocking cupboard space. What are they thinking about with that? Then when we were getting past these "improvements", it suddenly died! 2 months old. Of course all you have to do is send them $7.50 for a replacement but wouldn't you think the life span should be better than the old design? Ahhh, progress.
