"WHAT A LOVELY TEAKETTLE, CUTE AND VERY USEFUL!"
This adorable teakettle goes so well in my Rooster themed kitchen. I purchased this last month when I bought a new smoothtop range. It works great and it is cute and whimiscal! And, it matches my other Rooster items from Corelle that I bought on Amazon. Also, it matches my curtains. In addition, it whistles just loud enough. And it is easy to clean. It is one of my most favorite kitchen items!

"Pretty, but useless for boiling water"
One star is for how whimsically pretty it is. We'll add it to our knick-knack display shelf for that reason. The second star is for the wonderful two toned whistle, which we'll alas never hear again once we buy a practical teakettle.

This teakettle doesn't adequately do the two most important functions of a teakettle. The first is holding water that heats to boiling. If you fill the pot, even an inch below the rim, large amounts of boiling water sputter all over the stove. The second function is pouring the boiling water. This kettle does not drip. Instead, it spews large volumes of boiling water on the floor, table, to the side, on people's laps. With care, some water makes it into the tea cup, about half. The kettle pours better when a third full to empty. It drips a lot then, but most of the water makes it into the cup.

I notice that the previous five star reviewers don't talk about how this teakettle works. I wonder if they used it? It impressed me out of the box, but as the saying goes, "Handsome is as handsome does.



"Absolutely adorable........"
I just received my Corelle Country Morning Whistling Teakettle today. I was pleasantly surprised when I took it out of the box. First, this is a high quality product, and for a fraction of the cost of most other whistling teakettles. The photo on the Amazon website does not do justice to the product. The handle, spout cover, and knob look black in the photo, but they are actually a beautiful shade of rust. The color just pops when my range hood light shines on it. It is the cutest teakettle I've ever seen. I am more than satisfied with this product, and with the speedy delivery service,too. You won't regret buying this whistling teakettle.

UPDATED Oct. 4, 2007--I just read the review titled"Pretty but Useless..." dated Sept 19, 2007. This teakettle is an excellent product as far as utility is concerned. One should never fill a kettle to the top to boil water....about 2/3 full is best. I have never had a problem with boil-overs, nor with pouring the boiling water out. Just keep the water at a lower level in the kettle, and it should perform just fine. Believe me, this is a fine teakettle.....and not just a pretty one.
