"A leaf blower or a vacuum cleaner ? a leaf blower for sure " whomever designed this piece of junk has got to be out of his/her mind, no wonder is $49 (wife bought it not me), you get what you pay for I guess, but I know other ways to throw my money away and enjoy it, chuck-e-cheese ?? (maybe they were the designers). I use it as a leaf blower, unless I want to chase a piece of fur or a feather all over the house, trying to suck it in with the vacuum at the same time that it is blowing it away, (sometimes is fun when you are bored. . . . . . .NOT!) do not buy it, the exhaust air is stronger than the suction. "DIRT DEVEL FEATHERLITE VACUUM" I sent this vacuum to my elderly sister and she is so pleased with it because it is so light. "I love it!" I've had this for about a month now, and I'm very happy with it. The blower is on the front near the bottom, but it doesn't blow the air at the floor, it blows up. I have a three bedroom apartment full of tile, and have had no problem on bare floors. It's also done a really good job on my rugs that I have hear and there...picks just about anything up...and I have two kids! I also love that I can get under the edge of the couch. It's very easy to switch to the accessory hose...and has plenty of options. p.s. 10grand on carpet and you got a $60 vacuum? "not very powerful" Sure it is great that the handle folds down and that the vacuum is light. However it is not very powerful. I used it at a store I work at. The wind had blown in a few fall leaves. This vacuum just kind of crunched the leaves and spit them out. Eventually, I was able to vacuum them all up but it took a long time. I guess you get what you pay for. "Poor on bare floors and ate my carpeting" I agree with the previous review about the idiocy of putting the blower where they did. You can't vaccum up anything on a tile floor, as it scatters before the vaccum can reach it. Moreover, we just spent about 10 grand on new carpet, and this vaccum literally ate my carpet. Not just stray fibers, or what new carpet typically sheds. We're talking the entire canister filled with carpet. I want my money back on this cheap thing.

What our customer's say! "Worst vacuum ever", Here is a good trick, try putting cleaning powder on your carpet and vacuum it up using this dirt devil vacuum. You create a massive dust storm that does exactly the opposite of what you want to do....clean. Afterwards you are left dusting all other furniture and coughing up the powder (which i can't imagine is that safe). The design of this product is flawed...put a blower on the front...nice job Einstein. Seriously they should offer a refund to all who purchased this product. "Great product", Works fine so far! I was looking for a pretty cheap, light vacuum for my little two bedroom apartment. It definitely does what I need it to do; however, for anything larger than a two bedroom apartment this may not be such a great pick. When I empty out the trap for this vacuum it is quite full; the capacity or volume that this vacuum can handle does not appear to be quite large. Definitely not for houses. "Seriously, A Great Value!", I bought this vacuum 2 years ago, when my $400 Oreck vacuum broke down. I thought "Well, I'll just get this cheap vacuum while the Oreck is getting repaired." (I vacuum frequently (3x per week) b/c of our dogs who shed a lot.) Well, the Oreck never got repaired, and this is the main, dry vacuum that replaced it. First and foremost, it works just as good as my old Oreck vacuum does. It picks up all the dog hair and more, the first time around, for only $49 at Target!!! 2 years later, with frequent use, it is still going like the day I bought it. I have changed the filter 3 times, which is super easy to change, easy to find at K Mart or Target, and Amazon, of course. I love the fact that you can see what you are picking up as you go from room to room. A couple of times I wanted to see if this vacuum missed anything; after a quick once over, I vacuumed the house a second time, and on the 2nd time around I didn't get much dust or dog hair. The attachements are easy to use, and at the bottom of the vacuum is a spare belt if you need it. Another good quality is that it is light weight and easy to manuver, and has been able to work hard. I have had no problems with it and can't think of a negative thing except having to empty the canister. Highly recommend, go for it! "PRETTY GOOD", This vacuum cleaner is pretty good. I wouldn't say that it's great. It does pick up well, but the cleaning part is a hassle because stuff gets stuck in the grooves of that filter, and you have to knock it against something to get the stuff out. This is ok most of the time, but if you have something exceptionally disgusting like bugs, it is not good. "So far so Good!!!!", I recently purchased this vacuum for $50 from Target. Assembly was easy. I too was apprehensive about how light and flimsy it felt. But I must admit that as soon as I turned it on, the dust cup filled up with dust from my carpet. It is so light, that it handles quite easily. It also comes with a long cord. I'm thrilled that it is bagless, but make sure that you empty the dust cup outside of your home, if possible, because that can get messy. I had to remove the filter in order to empty the dust cup. I ended up getting dust on my hands---yuck. But all in all for the price its a good vacuum. It's light and compact so it's easy to store away in a closet. If you want a functional vacuum for a cheap price go with the Dirt Devil Featherlite.  Read this reviews before You buy... "a powerful vaccum", This is really a powerful vaccum. Very easy to use and move as the name said it "featherlite". I use it to clean both the wooden floor and the carpet in the bedroom. It did a great job for the whole apartment! "Decent power and compact size", Purchased the Dirt Devil to use at my cabin. It has surprising suction power for a compact machine. Fairly easy to empty the "dust cup". OK machine at budget price. "What were the Dirt Devil designers thinking?", All vacuums have an air exhaust somewhere on them. Incredibly, the Dirt Devil designers placed their's right up front just below the headlight, so air blows hard on the floor directly in front of the vacuuum. Anything loose (e.g., dog hair, dust, paper, grass, etc.) is blown away BEFORE you can reach it with the vacuum. Vacuuming with the Dirt Devil becomes a game of chase. Good luck as you try to sneak up on the dirt before its blown away from the vacuum. (Don't even TRY to use this lemon on a tile floor!) No wonder I got this on sale for 60 bucks. Looks like it's time for the Dirt Devil company to go in the dustbin. |
