"Dutch oven"
This is an excellent product. Consumer Reports recommended as number one and that is the best recommendation that I can give it! It cooks evenly and perfectly every time I use it. I love this for stews, roasts on the stove and in the oven.

"Lodge Cooking Is Great!"
There isn't much better cooking then with the Lodge pans. Everything cooks evenly and stays very moist. Cleaning is easy and well worth the little bit of extra weight of the pan to get excellent results with your cooking; even for the beginner chef!

"Great Product"
I love this dutch oven. I use it on the stove top for mac & cheese, rice, and soups. I use it in the oven for my beef stew recipe. I used it the other day for roasting a turkey breast. It was delicious, we loved how tender and juicy it was. Usually it gets really brown on top, and thus dryer than it should be. I put the lid on it for the last hour and it made a huge difference. I would like to have the 6qt as well. Every kitchen needs one.

"very nice and heavy"
it is a good piece i did not stop using it since i bought it. great investment

"wonderful"
Great pan, great price, will have for years and years, perfect size for cooking for three people. Better than my Le Crueset, which is a piece of junk and annoying me more every time I cook in it.Buy this pan and enjoy great food.

What our customer's say!

"Cracked enamel", I recently purchased a Lodge Dutch Oven with a gift certificate for my wedding. I expected it to last for years but, within 5 months, it was cracked on the food surface and had to be thrown in the trash.

"Increase the oven tempurature threshold...here's how", This pot is the greatest. Extra plys of enamel, cast iron, heavy -- what's not to like, after all it's a Lodge and in my opinion equals (and in fact surpasses) the French brand any day. BUT, here's a problem I ran into but also conquered and hope this will help someone else with the same question. With the enameled Lodge dutch ovens and casseroles, the knob is only good to 400 degrees in the oven. I needed to increase this threshold to 500 for artisan breads, so here's what I did and it worked like a charm. First I checked another brand of enameled cast iron that was rated to 550 degrees. That particular brand didn't have the quality of enamel as a Lodge but it did live up to the tempurature. So, all that needed changing was the knob on the Lodge and that's what I did. Now my Lodge Enameled Cast Iron is good to go for my artisan bread and I couldn't be happier. This pot is wonderful, heavy duty, and a breeze to clean. No kitchen should be without a quality product such as this.

"Great addition to any kitchen", Bought this 3qt along with a 5qt figuring that would cover my cooking needs for cast-iron cookware( the 5qt has been replaced by a 6qt model but the quality is the same ) and they do. Wasn't quite sure how I was going to store these after I recived them but that worry was quickly dispelled when I found I was using them all the time for almost all my cooking. The large oven is great for making soups and dishes that need the extra space. The 3qt oven is great for oven cooked desserts or stove-top dishes like home-fries, or stir frying vegies.

The oven's heat-up quickly and evenly being made of cast-iron and the added versatility of either using them on the stove-top or in the oven means many of my other pots and pans go unused ( beware that they are heavy and require a little extra muscle to move around or clean but you get use to it in no time ).

The enameled surface makes for easy clean-up and attractive appearence if you decide to leave them on the stove top or kitchen counter. At this price both are a steal compared to imported cast-iron cookware and are highly recommended by this amateur chef!

"As good as the fancy french brand", I have two enameled cast iron pots -- this one and a larger oval one by Le Creuset. They work equally well. Save your money and buy Lodge!

"Best Dutch oven ever and a great value!", Not only is this dutch oven pleasing to the eye and can actually go from the oven to the dining table; it does a wonderful job with braising. And, it is a great size for cooking for two people. I have another dutch oven (Calaphon) and I don't think it cooks as evenly as this pan. And, because it is enameled, it is a breeze to clean. Definitely worth the money; I will be buying the larger pot.

"Nice!", We have the 6 quart dutch oven, the fry pan and this. Be warned, this has a smaller diameter than the Lodge Enamel-on-Cast-Iron 6-Quart Dutch Oven, Caribbean Blue or the Lodge Enamel on Cast Iron 11 Inch Skillet, Caribbean Blue so the lids aren't interchangeable (the 6 quart lid fits the skillet).

Very useful though. It is smooth enamel inside and out, unlike the skillet, so is more useful and even easier to clean up. Still a total tank like the other pieces, not cookware for your 85 year old grandma (unless she lifts weights, heavy ones!). A bargain and again, use the free super saver shipping. It will save you some serious bucks.

"Beautiful and durable!", So far we love this piece! Only used it 3 times so far and it washes great! I have made eggs and grits and sauce in it and it works very well! We love cast anyway! Even though this cookware is made in China it is still great!

"Great customer service", I'm giving Lodge a 5 star rating because of their customer service. The pot I received had some pin holes inside the pot,and developed a small chip outside on the rim after 1 use. I also bought the 6qt.dutch oven as well and that was in perfect condition. Lodge promptly sent me a UPS label and gave me a new one. These pots are quality, heavy duty pieces and I'm glad I went with a reputable company like Lodge. For the price and their grantee you can't go wrong.
