"Perfect for smaller amounts of cherries"
This Cherry pitter works very nice except for the occasional stuck pit that does not get seperated from the cherry. The splash gard works well but you still want to hold it down into the sink. The grip feels very nice in the hand. Easy to wash out. Would definetly buy again.

"Marvelous Invention"
I love cherries. This cherry pitter makes it a breeze to pit them. The splash guard reduces the splatter of cherry juice. I hold my hand under the guard to make sure the pit comes out; as a result any remaining splash goes into my hand. On the rare occasions the pit remains in the cherry, it's an easy job just to pick it out once the cherry is removed.

The tool is easy to grip and use and after washing, the splater shield can be removed and locked in place. As a result, the tool storage space is reduced.

I already ordered three of these gadgets, one for me and the rest as gifts. My boyfriend bought one too and he loves it. My boyfriend tried it on olives and says that works too.

It's also great as a wedding gift for those gadget or kitchen baskets a bride may have. Rarely will anyone think of giving such an item so it's not likley to be a duplicate.

Most people who enjoy eating or baking with cherries will love this kitchen tool.

"I love it!"
I was killing my thumb removing cherry pits. This really works. It's amazing! I plan to give it as christmas gifts to my friends and family.

"Yep... it actually works."
Economical and effective... I'm satisfied.

8 or 9 cherries out of 10 are pitted perfectly without additional assistance. I pitted a whole bag of cherries in a matter of minutes. The cherries aren't squashed and the pits pop right out of the bottom. The whole thing is no larger than a can opener, doesn't require much force/pressure to use and works great -- RECOMMENDED.

"All the enjoyment...None of the nuisance."
I think this is a terrific product. I have always like OXO products and this is no exception. I cannot compare it to other cherry pitters since this is the first one I have ever used but I am very pleased with my purchase. I have always just eaten around the pit and tossed them out, or placed them in a trash bowl as I went, which never seemed like too much trouble. However, now that i have a four year old I was worried (of course) about him choking on the pits and trying to take them out for him made a huge mess so i looked on line and found this cherry pitter.

I chose this one partly because I had been so pleased with OXO in the past and part for the reviews on the splash guard. I found it pretty effortless to use, not much hand pressure needed. I had no trouble lining it up, the pits came right out and there was no splatter or mess which was great.

As a plus I have noticed how much more I have enjoyed cherry season this year now that i can simply remove all the pits in the kitchen and sit down to enjoy a nice big bowl without constantly managing the pits!

I would definitely buy this again and suggest it for friends.

What our customer's say!

"Very Handy with Soft Grip", This is a very handy tool to have. Soft grip easy to handle. It gets the job done without being messy.

"Cheap. Easy to use. Saves a ton of time.", I love cherries. When they're in season and cheap enough, I buy a ton of them. But I like to put them in smoothies and yogurt, which makes it necessary to remove the pit. I was doing with just a knife, which worked well enough but took a long time. Then, I read about this little gadget and bought it.

It works. It doesn't make the work instantaneous, but saves at least half of the time. And it's a lot more fun shooting the pit out with this guy than cutting the cherry in half.

It's cheap. If you eat a lot of cherries, it will save you time.

"OXO cherry pitter ok", I purchased this particular product because it was endorsed by a cooking magazine. It is fairly easy to use and cleans easily, but I didn't expect it to leave such a large hole in what you were pitting. The other thing I don't care for is the "splash guard" frequently comes off during the pitting process. I will continue to use this product because it's better than nothing.

"Just what I needed", WOW! I read the other reviews and wondered how it was people could be so excited about a cherry pitter- this thing is fantastic! Easy to use, easy to clean; absolutely the best tool for the job.

"Oxo has done better", I was a little disappointed in this product. I pitted some olives and it took quite a bit of strength to work it. The olives were not all that hard.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Wish I had owned this 30 years ago", What a little beauty. I bought this about the time we started getting the beautiful fresh cherries in the grocery store. As usual, I planned all sorts of dishes with the little darlings until reality set in and I realized that the cherry pitter I had been using was reluctant, at best. I hate pitting cherries by hand. I found this little gem on Amazon and it has been worth it's weight in cherry pie. Ok, it's not equal to pennicillin, but to my mind, it is a worth while invention.

"Cherry Pitter", Product arrived on time and in good condition. Seems to work very well and is very easy to clean.

"Works Great", This cherry pitter is great. Simple design, easy to clean,
makes cherry pitting a breeze.

"Awesome cherry pitter", This cherry pitter is great! I can pit many cherries very quickly. The splash guard keeps the splatter in the bowl where I'm pitting. The grip is soft and not as hard as others I've tried. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for one.

"Works about 70% of the time", I purchased this because it got such rave reviews vs. other cherry pitters. I've never used a cherry pitter so I cannot compare it to any. I would think that a 5 star pitter would do a efficent job. I would say that this worked about 70% of the time at removing the pits. Sometimes it seemed to just push the pits to the side of the cherry & I had to squeeze out the pit (so my fingers got a bit stained). I could feel it hit the cherry pit but there would be no extracted pit! I find this much easier & quicker than pitting by hand of course & I don't regret buying this. Clean up is very easy & it has a little tab that locks it closed which is a convenient feature. If this is a 5 star pitter by other reviewers than I would hate to ever encounter a lesser rated pitter, they must not work at all!
