"Style changes make it not as friendly"
We bought this as a replacement for a previous model, the 665B I believe, one of which died out of the blue after two years, and then two years later the replacement died again, but this time was from a plastic bag falling behind it and blocking the air intake.

This newer version is almost the same as our earlier one -- same dimensions (or very close, which was crucial to us) and the same button operation, but the door has been changed. Instead of having a black handle on the door that you just pull open, you have to push a door-open button, and THEN open the door, which is inconvenient and annoying.

Overall, though, we're happy with it. We don't use the sophisticated features very often, though they are nice; over 90% of the time, we just use the basic time-cook on full power. The Quick Minute (add-a-minute) button gets used a lot and is much faster than keying in a time. Let's just hope this one lasts longer than the previous two Panasonics, but at least the price is right.

"Great Performance So Far"
So far this microwave has performed great. It had the most power for its size I could find. This was replacement for same model used for 5 yrs before it began being quite slow - taking 30-50% longer to cook

"So far so good"
I've had this microwave oven for approx one month so far. I have not experimented with the programmable defrost feature yet. Otherwise, the basic functions work well and I have had no trouble at all with this oven. It is somewhat light in weight, so it may occasionaly push back on the counter when you push the button to open the door. This could vary depending on how slick of a surface you set it on. I would buy again with confidence. I am an electrical engineer, so I am typically quick to spot obvious defects in design or build.

"Piece of JUNK!!"
I had this microwave a little over a year and a 1/2 and it just died suddenly. I read reviews with similar complaints AFTER buying this unit and i remember thinking to myself "I HOPE mine will be different!!" Unfortunately, it was not. AVOID the 1300Watt Panasonic Microwaves!!! I do not know the cause of failure, however, the failure rate seems to be very high after the warranty period runs out!!!!

"Very Nice Microwave - Lacks just a couple little things"
This is a very powerful unit, 30% faster than our old one. it is working quite well after 3 weeks and we are happy. We hope it stays reliable.

I wish it lit up inside when you open the door. As a consolation a light does shine inside when its cooking, but that doesn't help when you go to grab a hot dish.

I also wish the door opened more than 90°. Our old microwave opened 180° so it was well out of the way. Very handy.

What our customer's say!

"Died in two months", I paid extra for what I thought would be a good name. It wasn't worth it. It just stopped heating. It makes noise, spins, lights, but nothing gets warm. It's being fixed, under warranty, BUT... I had to drive over an hour to the service center (and will have to do the same in two weeks or so when it's ready to be picked up), they gave me a hard time for having a "screen shot" of the proof of purchase from Amazon, AND I'd have to be without a microwave for two weeks or more.

When it was working, it was decent, but, as others have written, it's annoying that the light doesn't come on when the door is opened. Also, from time to time, the turntable binds for no apparent reason.

I'd expect more for $130. I just bought a slightly smaller stainless steel GE from Lowe's for $90 which I like much better. Oh, well.

"Behaving quite excellently.", Indeed excellent, with no problems at all. The 1300-watt power is a welcome step-up from my older 1000-watt oven. But the best part is that one can leave the door open when not in use, and the light is *not on*. A great enemy of microwaves is rust. People close the door when finished with the oven, mostly to save the electricity and bulb. (Try replacing a microwave bulb!) Now when I reheat my tea and tea water, several times a day, NO PROBLEME!

"good microwave", Great at cooking solid foods, ok at cooking liquids and suspension foods. The auto cook feature does not work that good. Plenty of cooking space. Overall good, but not great microwave.

"Viewing Display is a big Problem, otherwise fine", This microwave is otherwise a five-star, but the display drops it to a three-star.

Problems:

1.) The display is polarized, so you can't view it from an angle above 45 degrees. This is not a problem from several feet away, but standing next to the microwave on the counter I need to bend down to see the display.

Until I have the microwave memorized I will always need to bend over to set the microwave. This is not a problem on my old Panasonic.

2.) As noted in other reviews the interior lights only when the microwave is on, not when the door is open.

Good Aspects:

1.) This replaces a 15 year old Panasonic microwave of the same size which was making noise, although still working. This microwave is almost twice as fast, nearly silent, weighs half as much, and is good looking.

2.) After years of using Panasonic moisture sensor cooking I would never buy any other brand until they can replicate this feature.

I would return this microwave except it appears all Panasonic microwaves currently have the same type of display. Hopefully Panasonic fixes this problem in future models.

For $130 I'll use this microwave until Panasonic replaces this horrible display on future models.

Panasonic NN-H965BF Luxury Full-Size 2.2-Cubic-Foot 1,250-Watt Microwave Oven, Black

I own the predecessor to this model, the H964. It's the 2nd Panansonic microwave of this size that we've bought--in just 3 years. The first lasted 1 1/2 years and had to be repaired once. The second died three weeks after the warranty period. After literally 8 calls to Panasonic customer service (asking for the serial number, calling back with it, etc etc.) they agreed to at least cover the cost of a repair estimate (they eventually paid for the entire repair cost).

The problem was that the fuse had died. The authorized repair facilitiy told me that the only microwaves they ever get for repair are Panasonics; he said the problem is that to reduce their weight, they use smaller parts, like the tubes, which can't handle the load for long. He also said that their fuses don't last.

The repair person recommended either Sharp or Sanyo as much longer lasting. I checked the weight of a similar-sized Sharp and saw that it weighed about 6 pounds more than the Panasonic--presumably because some parts are heftier.

When this newly-repaired Panasonic dies again, it will be long out of warranty and then we'll try our luck with a Sharp. Replacing a microwave every 18-20 months is not my idea of money well spent.

"Great microwave for 1.2 cf", We'd prefer a larger unit, but this one fits in the cabinet space with enough room for ventilation. The 1300 watts is very nice, and cooks or reheats food much quicker than our old 1000 watt Panasonic [which finally died after 11 hard-use years]. The controls are basic, and simple to use, and the build seems durable. Be aware, however, that the unit ships in its own box, and our first unit was pretty well banged-up. Amazon is wonderfully easy with returns, however, and the replacement arrived quickly.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"panasonic microwave oven", It's fast, easy to operate, and it has some outstanding features like the sensor reheat and sensor cook functions. The keep warm function is pretty cool too.

"Panasonic Microwave", Microwave works great with very high power. My only complaint is that the inside light does not come on with door open, only during cook cycle.

"Nice!", This is our third Panasonic microwave. We really like the size and appearance but buy this product for the inverter feature. Good value for the price.

"panasonic NN-SN667B microwave", This replaced a similar sized Panasonic microwave oven that had a problem with the door button getting stuck or popping out. So far it seems to work very well. It's quieter than the previous mmodel and a little smaller for outside dimensions while the interior capacuty is the same as the old model. The inverter technology seems to work well for defrosting, much better than previous microwaves I've owned, and the sensor reheat and cook work very well also. My only complaint is that to use the sensor cook you key in a number from 1-9, but nowhere in the instructions does it explain what number corresponds to what type of food you are cooking. There are less expensive microwaves out there with similar features except for the inverter technolgy, but in my opinion it's worth the extra.
