Others say...

"Not too bad"
I'm not a big fan of strawberry, but I got it for my wife and she likes it. It takes about 3 squirts to flavor a 12-16oz glass of water. With that in mind, you're looking at about 30 glasses worth per $5 bottle. So, I'd say to save the flavor for when you're not thirsty so that you can savor it.

"Yucky"
I am disappointed with this product in general, regardless of the flavor... However, with that said, this is the worst flavor I have tried so far. Raspberry and Lemon were ok. This one tastes like medicine. None of these provide enough flavor with 1 squirt as the manufacturer states it should. If you were hoping to save money by using this over purchasing flavored bottled water, you will be disappointed.

"Yummy"
I was pleasantly surprised by this flavor. I normally don't like diet drinks at all, but my daughter does, so I got it for her. I didn't notice an aftertaste and like the flavor a lot. It doesn't taste as artificial as I'd anticipated. I use two squirts in a 12 ounce cup - it tastes just fine and is much less expensive that regular soft drinks. I really can't imagine using 5 squirts in an 8 ounce glass - it would be horribly sweet (and I have a major sweet tooth). It's cheaper than flavored bottled water, but it seems to me that it's still a little pricey, given that you're providing your own water and container and mixing it yourself.

"Not very tasty"
The flavors are kind of gross. I'm used to the flavored water by Dasani and Aquafina or even the Crystal Light mix-ins and this doesn't taste nearly as good as those. I think it's a neat idea, but they need to work on removing the "artificial sweetener" aftertaste.

"God Jam(n) it!"
Flavor is ok, but that's irrelevant. The things jam up and do not work 90% of the time! At least in the pitchers... I don't know why or how, but I've tried fixing it and went through 4 bottle and they all stop working after a few days even though they are really full. The worst part was when I called Pur to point out the negative reviews of this and especially of some of their pitchers on Amazon, such as one that nearly everyone pointed out starts leaking from the bottom. I pointed this out in a nice way to show that it's a common and known issue. Since P&G spends millions on focus groups and such, I figured they'd be happy to have information handed to them. Nope..it's not their policy to look at online reviews, and all they could do is give me a coupon for some flavor bottle and a new pitcher...which started leaking again. The water is great but only if you keep it simple and stick to a no-frills plain shaped pitcher.

What our customer's say!

"makes the water more interesting", a bit of flavor makes the water more interesting. you can store them in the fridge and swap them with other flavors when you get bored

"Pur Flavor Cartridge 2-pack", I really love the flavor this puts into the filtered water. I am disappointed that they don't work well half way through their use. They are not clogged, they just don't squirt out like they do when they are first opened. I find I have to squeeze them by hand to get the few drops needed to flavor the water.

"Luv this stuff", Oh, this is great compared to what came from the tap before. Try it I think you will also like it.

"Buy Your Own Flavor", When a company rushes out with something that doesn't even fit well into the pitcher, doesn't dispense very well, is artificial flavor and is grossly expensive, it simply means more planning was necessary before launching such a venture! The PUR filter systems still don't remove fluoride, unfortunately, so people with heart problems and such probably should stick to bottled water. In the meantime, if you want taste, by some fruit juice at the store and add a dash to each pitcher full.

"Yay, now you can clean your water and add junk back to it!", I just tried this at a friend's house and the strawberry flavoring was just horrible. If you have any appreciation for good food and beverages, you will not like this. It was so artificial tasting that I couldn't have more then the one sip. Strawberry is a hard flavor to mimic. If you've ever had strawberry flavored lip balm, candy, or something like that, you'll know what I mean.

This product is such a bad idea. If the goal is to filter out chemicals from your water why would you want to put more back in??

I use the plain 3 stage Pur filters on my faucet and they are great for making my tap water completely flavorless, the way I like it. (Although I really question the quality of the actual faucet mount and how it's priced.)

If you want strawberry flavored water, buy a bunch of real strawberries on sale (or whenever if you can afford it), when they're ripe, wash and chop them and keep them in the freezer. Use a few pieces like ice cubes. Then you'll also have a tasty and healthy thawed out treat at the bottom of your cup to look forward to as reward for drinking your water. I also do this with pretty much any fruit I have that I fear might go to waste, but I also like my water just fine plain.

Water really is addicting once your body gets past the shock that it's sugar-free, fat-free and calorie-free. I can't imagine that adding stuff like this to water will help your body crave it.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great Taste", I just love this flavor! It is the best out of the three. There is no after taste like there is in many flavored waters. The only problem I have with this product is that it does not last long. But I am still going to buy it!

"A little chemical tasting but still good", I love the PUR faucet mounted water filter and saw the commercial for the flavorings and they seemed interesting. I have to say, I was a little dissapointed. I was expecting more of a realistic fruit taste and instead it tastes very artificial with that sort of fake sweetener aftertaste (a lot like those Fruit2O water bottles). All in all, its nice to have the option to add a little flavoring to the water, and I have found that the colder the water, the better the flavoring tastes. I don't think I will buy this again but I will continue using what I have.

"I really wanted to like these, but....", the cartridges do not last long enough for the price, even when they function properly. I am on my third cartridge. The first one worked well enough, but it only lasted a few days for my family of three. The second cartridge didn't work at all. The third cartridge dispenses about half of the time the button is pressed.

A few warnings:

---be prepared to push the flavor button several times to get any flavor at all
---the claim on the package that each cartridge can flavor up to 75 servings is absurdly optimistic
---the cartridge easily becomes dislodged from its resting place during use
---the pitcher must be refilled incessantly, as its filtered water compartment is quite small
---if you try to pour water while there is any water in the unfiltered reservoir, the lid will fall off

The good news is that the taste of the flavor additive is pretty nice, if you're accustomed to diet beverages.

I was hoping to keep a few water bottles out of the recyling bin or landfill and perhaps save a bit of money while doing so. I'm returning this product. I'll probably buy something similar in the future if a more reliable model is developed. Great idea, PUR, but poor execution....

"Disappointed", We purchased the Pur Water Pitcher with Flavor Cartridge because we were so often buying bottled flavored water. The first cartridge that came with the pitcher worked only half of the time and like the previous reviewer said, you have to use a lot of pumps to flavor the water sufficiently. When I ordered replacement cartridges, the same thing happened as with the first one: the cartridge worked only half of the time. Each cartridge lasted about a week and we were constantly having to open the lid of the pitcher to readjust the cartridge to try to get it to work.

"It's aiight...", Great flavor, kids like the taste. They especially loved the raspberry. However, I was disappointed with: 1) how many pumps it takes sufficiently flavor in the water (3-4 pumps/8 oz. cup), hence, 2) how often cartriges need replacement (about every 1-2 weeks in my house of 6). It says it's good for 75 uses... My kids are opposed to drinking plain water constantly and I purchased this as an alternative. Looks like I'll need more than 2 cartridges to keep the sanity around here. Although at this price... it might be worth it.
