"So Easy to Use - make tea or iced tea in a snap" This amazing device is easier to use than a tea kettle and tea pot. I make yummy iced tea all the time - I will buy one for my daughter for use in the dorms. I bought the large size 32oz which is perfect - I think 16 oz would be too small. Also it is very easy to clean. Well designed great idea. "Finally a "gizmo" that works great" I was very skeptical at first that this design would have all kinds of leakage problems and just be a mess. I was very happy to discover that it works exactly as specified. I use mine at work. Simply put in the Tea, fill with hot water and let steep. When it's ready just set the item on top of your mug and presto, you have tea. Or put it on top of a glass of ice and you have ice tea. It also comes with a little tray to set it on afterwards. I think my only suggestion would be to include measuring lines on the side so you can tell how much water you're putting in. If you have a small tea cup you need to be careful not to overflow it when you place the device on top of the cup. But no biggie. Really a great little invention. Beats the heck out of any tea balls or screens I've been using. It's also a great gift idea. "Quick and Efficient way to brew tea!" You can quickly and efficiently brew tea in one pot. The pot can be used in the microwave. Once water is boiling, drop in tea leaves and let it steep. It's a great product. "Great product, if only..." I use my ingenuiTEA quite often. If Adagio would add graduated ounce marks to the side, I'd give it five stars. I usually make an 8-oz. cuppa tea and had been transferring hot water from the kettle to either my tea cup or a measuring cup before pouring it into the ingenuiTEA to get the right amount. At some point I wised up and just drew an 8-oz. mark on the product with a permanent marker, but that fades eventually and has to be redrawn. One other thing to note, if you like to press your leaves after brewing, is that it can be a little tricky with this product. Since the ingenuiTEA doesn't pretend to be a tea press though, I'm not going to dock it for that. Overall this is a great product for a reasonable price if you typically brew only a cup for yourself or two smallish servings (it's almost too full with 16 ounces). "tea drinker" This tool works great for making tea with loose leaf, much better than the tea holders that I used to use. There is no passing of stray leaves into the cup (so leaf reading is out). One caution though, if you plan on using the the pot with your microwave, make sure to take measurements before purchase, it is quite tall and may not fit in a number of microwaves (too tall for mine).

Why I buy this one ? - Dishwasher safe - Fantastic Tea - Easy Cleanup - Two Sizes What our customer's say! "I love this thing", I bought one at a local gift shop and use it regularly. The screen at the bottom is fine enough to be able to strain roibos tea or chamomile flowers without getting those annoying little bits floating in your cup. It microwaves well and is easy to clean, just dump out the tea leaves, rinse and turn upside down to dry. If you ever need to wash it with soap, it comes apart easily and goes right back together just as easily. The only complaint I have is so minor, it's not worth detracting a star from the 5 star rating. What's my quibble? The screen at the bottom stains if you forget that you've brewed tea and leave it for a few hours because it's plastic. That's it. "A fantastic tea brewing solution.", I've been drinking a lot more tea than I used to recently, and I've found the ingenuiTEA to be, quite simply, indispensable. The device is pretty clever in its design-- it's a 16 ounce cylinder sitting on top of a filter (like a permanent coffee filter), all of which sits on top of a spigot that's closed under normal circumstances. The cup's base has two concentric sections-- the outer ring does nothing more than support the device, the inner ring is recessed from the outer and opens the spigot. Place the ingenuiTEA on the counter and the outer ring supports the device. Place the ingenuiTEA on top of a standard width cup and the outer ring hangs over the edge and the inner ring gets pushed upward, opening the spigot and allowing liquid to pour through the filter and out of the bottom into your cup. So what you get is easy tea brewing from loose leaves-- throw your leaves in the ingenuiTEA, pour your (heated) water over the top, close the lid and let it hang out for your desired steeping time. When you're ready, place the ingenuiTEA on top of your cup and you're done. The device is virtually spill-proof-- it comes with a base to rest on while steeping so if you do spill, you've got something to spill on (I've used mine a hundred or so times by my best guess and had one spill-- because the ingenuiTEA was not placed cleanly on the base). Cleaning is pretty straightforward-- apparently, it's dishwasher safe, but I've never dishwashed it. The filter comes out and everything else is easily accessible. The only area where a tea ball may have it beat is with more difficult to shake out herbals-- I make a lot of rooibos and find it really irritating to have to scrape out the leaves when I'm done. Nonetheless, the device is fantastic and works quite well-- I've used it to brew all sorts of teas. Recommended. "A Wonderful Teapot", This is easily the best teapot out there for brewing loose teas. It's ridiculously easy -- throw in some tea and add hot water. Put it over the cup after it steeps and the tea comes out minus the icky leaves. Really a wonderful time saver. It works with any and all loose tea and will microwave (though I like adding hot water myself. Simple. Elegant. Doesn't need anything special. "Even better than pictured model", I had the Teavana model of this, which is identical to the picture with a different logo. I've used it for a couple years, often twice a day, and my only complaint was that the filter isn't removable and starts to accumulate tiny particles of tea (tip: soak in Oxybrite). Eventually, mine started leaking a little so I replaced it with this item. It's actually a different design than pictured, with a clear, sloped base and a removable filter. I haven't used it yet, but this looks like a big improvement. I'll revise my review if I discover otherwise. "I'm A Believer Again", TIP: I've had this 'teacup' (16 oz.) for a while now. I recently became frustrated with it. I use green tea (leaves never bags) and I re-infuse the leaves. Normally I would pour the hot water into the cup, steep the tea the enjoy my cuppa. A few weeks ago, I decided to try using cold water and popping it into the microwave as suggested. That, I thought, would eliminate the step of boiling a kettle full of water for 16 oz of tea. True, but the little strainer at the bottom of the cup kept popping out, and the leaves would then strain into my cup - annoying me and wasting my leaves. I was not a happy camper. Well it finally dawned on me yesterday that the hot water worked to seal the little strainer. So now I have completely abandoned the microwave idea (probably wasn't good for me anyway). I pour a bit of hot water into the cup, wait 3 seconds, gently press on the strainer with my spoon, listen to it pop into place and seal. THEN and only then do I add my precious tea leaves and more hot water and wait 2 to 3 minutes for gratification. When re-infusing the leaves, I press first with the spoon while carefully adding a bit of hot water. If I don't, when the strainer pops out the leaves already in there will slip under and end up in my cup. I've noted that even when using the hot water, if you pour all at once the strainer will pop out. I don't know why this is happening now or if it happens only with mine, but the above is my solution if you encounter the same issue. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "A must for loose leaf tea drinkers!!", I've been a life long tea drinker. Back in college I tried the whole tea ball and loose leaf tea thing, but winged it without reading about how to do it right, and gave up when the results weren't worth it. Fast forward to a year ago when I visited a cafe that used this Adagio teapot to serve my tea. I was amazed at the teapot and the tea. It was great! The cafe happened to sell the teapot (for more $ than here), and I bought it, and promptly stuck it away until three months ago when I was gifted with some loose leaf tea. This time I took the time to research the brew differences between the various teas, and I'm doing it right this time. If you like tea then you must have this teapot. Tea balls and tea filters just won't work as well as this teapot. I learned that your tea leaves need room to move and expand for the best brewing, and this teapot allows that to happen. I don't want to sound dorky, but it's beautiful to see the dancing leaves during the brewing process. Once the brewing is complete you simply sit the teapot on top of your tea cup or mug, and it releases the mechanism that allows the tea to drain down into your cup. The filter at the bottom of the pot is very fine, so that you can use all types of loose leaf tea without the leaves getting into your tea. It's dishwasher safe, too. Just get it. You'll love it, and Adagio has great service. Get one of the pots with a sample set of teas. That's your best buy. "Small Loose Tea Teapot", This is a great item! First saw it in a gourmet shop where they made a sample of a tea I wanted to try. Works quick and easy, and it's terrific for making tea for just one or two people. Well made - looks like it will last. "tea for two", The item was given for a gift. This couple had used our two smaller ingenuiTEAs and were very impressed. These two folks one being English and quite the tea "snob", they were both very impressed with how good the tea turned out. They were very thrilled to get their own 32oz one. "Absolutely awesome!!!", I got the 32 ounce pot and that thing rocks! It's way too simple to use and now I'm saving crazy money by making my own iced tea instead of buying it pre-made. I've even become a huge fan of hot tea, now that I don't have to fiddle with those messy bags and infusers. The only problem is that I only have one. My husband also thinks it rocks and he wants to use it all the time (he has finally traded in his Coke-drinking habit for green tea!). He's actually been thanking me for buying it! And now our roommate wants to use it, too. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem except that we have different tastes when it comes to tea. And also, I like to let the pot sit and cold brew the once or twice used leaves after I drink the first batch. I'm seriously considering buying another one. If you're wondering which one to buy, get the 32 ounce. You can always put less water in it and it still works great when used on small tea cups. "This product is awesome!", I received one of these for a birthday present and have used it every day since! For those who have never experienced the flavor of loose leaf teas, you don't know what you're missing! The only problem I have is making that second cup of tea by reusing the same tea leaves. The leaves have a tendency to get stuck in the valve on the bottom and I occasionally have come back to dispense my tea into a cup and have found my tea all over my countertop! I have found that as long as I don't reuse the tea leaves, this product is perfect!! ![]() |
