"Worked great for 7 months", This kettle did everything it is supposed to flawlessly...for 7 months. Then it just quit. The switch no longer turned it on or the overheat switch is preventing it from turning on.
Appearantly "Toastess" is not a real brand name. This is a Chinese-made import item from Fox International. I sent mine in for repair under the one year warranty. No shipping label is available and so I had to spend more than one third its new value on return postage alone... We will see how the repair or replacement goes.
Update: It is now December and I still don't have a kettle.
After they had it a month, they determined that the kettle needed to be replaced (hey, don't rush on my account). Now it is two more months later and four calls so far and I still don't have a replacement...
So the moral is spend a little more and get a brand name kettle by a reputable company...
