Others say...
"So Far So Good" After a lot of searching and comparison shopping, my wife and I finally decided to take a chance on this machine. Our initial assessment: we love it. The adjustable grind & strength settings allows us to fine-tune our brew to suit the occasion (rocket fuel for breakfast, normal for company). In spite of reviews complaining of scattered coffee grounds, etc., we have had no problems. We are aware of reports that after some period of time the grinder mysteriously ceases to function, but we can only comment on our personal experience with this machine which so far been highly satisfactory. "Made a Coffee Drinker out of Me" I bought this because I moved half-way across the country and needed a new coffee machine due the fact I was expecting company from back home. Before moving my mother "borrowed" my Cusinart Grind and Brew coffee machine that someone gave me as a gift. Long story short, I never got it back and I have to say THANKS MOM (her reasoning was that I never drank coffee)!! This is an amazing coffee machine. One of the reasons I never drank coffee becasue cleaning the Cusinart was truly a labor of love, and if you didn't clean it right away you got mud in your grinds, not to mention having to load the machine with beans everyday. It just wasn't worth the work to me. With this machine, all I have to do is add water, a filter and turn it on. Truly the greatest coffee machine for those who aren't 100% in the morning, no measuring, no mess, no nothing, just push a button and BAM, you have coffee. It's honestly easier then sitting in a drive-thu and I can still have coffee in my underware. The quality of the coffee in amazing, and the temperature is just right. Yes, it has that tiny bit of unused grinds that is reused for the next pot, but if that's your main issue with the machine, I understand that there is one for three times the price that will not. Otherwise you can not go wrong with this machine, it is essentially almost idiot proof. I say essentially because I guess some people had some complaints with ground being sprayed all over the place, I am not saying that those people are idiots, I'm just saying that I am not the sharpest crayon in the box at 5:30 AM, and I have yet to have a single problem with the machine. Maybe a defect with earlier models, or was Darwin right???? Buy this machine, you will truly love it, will it please the 1% of coffee drinkers who are more coffee snobs and would be critical of any machine, no. For the other 99% sit back and have a cup of coffee and enjoy. "Great coffeemaker w/grinder..." Love it, far better than the Cuisinart it replaced. only negative so far is the clock which runs on a 24-hr cycle, not 12 hrs/am/pm. Quick & easy to set up, makes a superior cup of coffee - hope it lasts a long time!!! "Pretty good but could use a few tweaks" Having liked our previous Krups coffeemaker, when my husband and I decided to do our patriotic duty and use part of our stimulus check to upgrade to a newer coffeemaker, we were thrilled to find out that Krups made an integrated grinder/brewer. We've managed through trial and error to get pretty good coffee from it, but there are a few issues: - It does not come with a user manual. You have to download it from the Krups website. - The lid does not come off the carafe, and it doesn't fit into the dishwasher with it on, so it has to be hand washed. - We like our coffee mud-strong, and the factory settings for grounds per cup didn't make very strong coffee, even at the highest strength setting. We have to tell it to make 2 more cups than the amount of water we use (i.e. set it for 8 cups but only add 6 cups of water) for it to come out like Texas crude (our preferred consistency). Otherwise, we're pretty happy. Oh, and one other thing, if you have a baby in the house or anybody else that enjoys their sleep, the grinder is house-rattling loud, so watch out for that. In other words, quirky but functional. "so so" I give this coffeemaker two stars only because it does the grinding and programing that I want it to. BUT the pot is terrible. You have to pour really slowly or coffee will spill everywhere and if you try to lift the top to pour normally you get burned by the steam. It is easier to clean than my Cuisinart because you don't have to clean the grinder every time, but I miss the Cuisinart.

What our customer's say! "krups km7000 grind and brew coffeemaker", finally a effortless coffeemaker that brews a fine cup of coffee.it makes you almost look forward to getting up to the smell of the coffee brewing.i think anyone who reads the instructions will master this machine easily. "Best Grind and Brew coffee maker for the money", I love this coffee maker. It is a very good coffee maker. I bought this unit to replace a Cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker. The Krups coffee maker features a bur grinder. The burr grinder is neat to watch grind the beans. The grinder sits away from the filter. The spout comes out over the filter. I like the fact that you can adjust the coarseness of the grind which allows better control of the coffee taste. Burr grinding is the best method of grinding coffee beans. The fact that the grinder is sitting above the pot make it nice. The steam from the brewing process don't condense in the grinder housing as happens on some units. This makes for easy clean up. Only the filter basket has to be removed for cleaning. This is a big plus My complaints are minor. I was disappointed that unit didn't come with any duo pack filters. They have to be purchased separately. They can be purchased on Amazon so that isn't a problem. The duo filters are supposed to filter the water going into the unit and prevent mineral build up, This is a nice feature and I would have liked to see one filter included. One thing read the direction before starting to use the unit. I made hot water a few times the first time I used it. I didn't read the directions closely. I didn't realize that water filter cover had to moved in order of the grinder to grind the beans. When this unit goes I would purchase this product again. If you looking a grind and brew coffee maker that's easy to use. Buy this one. You can't go wrong. It's worth it. "What kind of replacement filter do you use", As a long time KRUPS user, I am very pleased with the new Grind and Brew. I am a little disappointed in the Brew and pause; it doesn't always pause right away. I am trying to replace the filter, but can't find the right replacement number. Seems like it should be specified somewhere. "One Major Flaw", It's a great machine so far, except for one major flaw... there is always about two tablespoons of ground coffee that stays in the chute so basically you are using yesterdays grind. If you clean out the chute, there may or may not be enough ground coffee drop in the filter. It's basically impossible to get consistant pots of coffee because of this crazy flaw. The trick to pouring with this pot is to not touch the cup with the pot. If you do that it won't dribble all over. Overall I love this machine but having yesterdays grind stuck in the chute just blows the whole thing for me. "FINALLY...a grind & brew that really works.", This is my third grind and brew, but my first Krups, and I adore it. Well engineered, simple to use, and I'm very happy with the quality of the coffee. I am not seeing a single coffee ground on my counter; like all grind & brews I've used, you have to make sure that the positioning of the various bits is "just so". On this machine, you need to be sure that the filter basket is really sitting properly or I suspect it will cause the part that provisions the grounds to be mispositioned. I can't really do a pros & cons list, because I don't have any cons, but here are some things I'm particularly pleased with: - The conical burr grinder is a real plus; I was skeptical about the difference this might make, but I taste it. - Hotter water; again, I think this makes a real difference in the quality of the brew. - No need to measure water or beans; just fill the hopper & the water tank, and say how many cups you'd like. - A special control for small batches; there's a "Aroma" control for batches of 2-4 cups that changes the brewing interval to accomodate the smaller proportions. - Easiest cleanup of any grind & brew I've had; for some of the others, you practically had to be an engineer to figure out how to clean the dang thing. This one is pretty much like cleaning any regular drip coffee maker. - Quieter; the grinder on this isn't exactly a whisper, but at least my cats don't fly off to the four corners of the house when it comes on. Seriously, what could be better than waking up to the sound of your coffee grinding followed by that gorgeous smell? I'm tickled pink. Also, the service on shipping this was unbelievably good. I shipped using the regular service and got this the day after I ordered it. All in all, just a stellar transaction. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Does what you expect it to.", This has brewed the best cups of coffee I've ever had (and no, the earlier cups were not from Starbucks.) Grinder is actually quieter than my separate grinder. Using machine is simple, cleaning is simple. If it lasts a long time this will certainly have been a great purchase. "easier than St****cks and less expensive :)", Arrived in a a timely manner - TG as our previous unit was burned out in a power surge. IT was very easy to set up - Took my husband only a few tries to get his ideal coffee! Thanks! "works great", The first Krups KM7000 Grind and Brew I received leaked all over the place so with Amazon there was no problem returning it and receiving a new one. This one is great! I had the Cuisinart Grind/Brew for many years and the grinder finally wore out and hated that the grinder ended up with steam in it. This one is very easy to use and clean and the beans stay dry. The hardest part is experimenting to find the grind and strength you prefer as there are many options. Once it's set to your desired taste then it makes a great tasting, very hot cup of coffee. I hope this one lasts as many years as the Cuisinart! "I love this coffeemaker", I was on the lookout for a new coffeemaker for a long long time but could never find just the right machine. Always thought a grind and brew would be great but have a friend with the Cuisinart version and never wanted to deal with the mucky grinder cleanup required on that thing. When I saw this, and read the positive reviews, it seemed like a perfect system for me, and I hesitated no longer. I have had it for several months now, am I'm incredibly happy with it. I think it was a brilliant design, it works very well and makes good coffee. The grinder is really really fast, so when it goes off in the morning, it only grinds for abt 30seconds or so. My old countertop burr grinder goes on and on - is very slow and noisy so I was thrilled with the speed of the one on this machine. There is literally NO cleanup involved other than tossing out the previous filter w/grounds, and giving the carafe a quick rinse. Just pop in a new paper filter, pour in your water, and you're set. Couldn't be easier and a huge improverment over the old Cuisinart design (not knocking Cuisinart - I love their products). My only complaints, and they are minor - are 1)the tendancy of the carafe to drip all over if you try too pour too fast, 2)a bit of difficulty measuring the water you have poured in, because it drops down into the waterfilter area, and 3)the machine is very large - it has a pretty big footprint for a coffee maker. Overall though it is a fantastic machine, which makes great coffee with freshly ground beans and hardly any effort, and all at a very reasonable price tag. I thoroughly recommend it. "A Grind 'N Brew That Exceeds Expectations", After my Cuisinart popped open and drenched my countertop for the 12th time I began the process of looking for a machine that would make great coffee with less investment of time and trouble. The reviews here (as usual) were very helpful, but it took me a while to choose this machine because some reviewers seem to overcomplicate things. You already know how you like your coffee right? If you have used grinders in the past you already have a favorite type of coffee/strength of roast/grind setting, right? So read the manual, set the machine the way you like your Joe - and enjoy! My point is...It's not that complicated!!! My unit arrived promptly, worked perfectly out of the box, and I only wasted one pot (too weak) before I had the various adjustments dialed-in. I have had no coffee blow-by on to the counter, find the grinding noise much less than the Cuisinart (jet engine) and about what one would expect from a stand-alone grinder, and clean up is mercifully easy. By the way - I think this is a pretty full-featured and well built machine for the price too! Seriously, I don't think you could find a better machine anywhere near this price. I did save my stainless carafe from the Cuisinart so I can bring the coffee to where I'm reading the paper on Sunday morning - but I'm not bitter at the Krups people for not offering one. And I haven't invested in the gold-tone filter either - it's too easy to toss the paper ones in the compost bin! ![]() |
