"Time to buy heaters now"
The theory behind this method of heating is convection/radiant heat. Elements in the bottom heat oil which circulates through tubes which get quite hot and radiate warmth. Aside from clickings from the thermostat, it is silent. It is slow to warm a larger area because it's relying on thermodynamics rather than a forced fan but will eventually do the job and do it quietly and well. I have two of them, one a fancy digital controlled model with timers, the other a no frills basic model. Both were made in Italy and have been trouble free. A friend bought a more recent basic model and it was from China and a little poorer in quality and smelled bad for a long time so pay more if you can find an Italian one. Great solution for heating medium sized rooms when you don't need to run the central system.

"very good heater"
I purchased this heater to try to offset my gas bill this coming winter. When it was delivered I plugged it in, and let it warm up, and it heats as I thought it would. It does take about an hour for it to heat up and make the room comfortable. The thing I love about this heater is NO NOISE!!!, and I can use it in my garage also with no worry about open flames while working on my car or working around gas. Would I purchase it again? YESSSSS

"DeLonghi - Great product, Great price, Great performance"
This is my 2nd Delonghi heater, the previous heater lasted over 15 years. I especially like the tradition with this product for solid construction, absolutely quiet operation at any temperature, and efficient radiant heat that easily adjusts to changing weather conditions. It is really practical to have the ComforTemp energy efficient feature with this new generation unit as well as the manual heating option. The unit is used in a small home add-on office (20X10) that is subject to harsh winds from the west (Maryland cold and damp weather). With the DeLonghi, the room is always comfortable. This was my 1st order from Amazon, I am so glad this quality product was offered. It was a great price, the service and delivery exceeded my expectations.

"Great oil-filled heater with nice features but emits an odor..."
This is a very clean and good heater, but it emits an odor (not bad but not good) that fills the room. If you can ignore the scent, then it's a great heater.

"Piece of Junk"
This heater worked fine for about 3 months and then just stopped working - no indication as to the problem - it just stopped working at all - a waste of money if you are looking for something reliable for the long term. I've had similar heaters for more than 15 years that are still operating fine - this "ComforTemo Technology" is not highly reliable.

What our customer's say!

"Warm in June", DeLonghi EW7707CM Oil-filled Radiator with ComforTemp Technology Box arrived all bent & crushed but product was OK. Works well but was only used for a damp, chilly week in June so real test won't come until fall/winter. Electric bill went up for month of June by about $40 but also had a warm week of AC usage so hard to tell if radiator added to increase.

"Quality Heater Nice Price", Works quickly and efficiently. No problems of getting to hot or cold. Looks nice also. Cant go wrong with this product

"excellent", I live in a completely re modeled pier and beam farm house and sometimes in the winter it can get a little chillier than usual for my climate. The propane is stinkin' expensive so I bought one of these and it cut my gas bill quite a bit and it didn't suck the electric meter much either. I will definitely get another one for next winter.

"Great space heater for the money.", Takes about a half-hour to really heat up, but it keeps the living room here warm on chilly nights very well, the 'Comfortemp' button makes operation as simple as it gets. If I was ever looking for a second space heater, I'd definitely buy this one again.

"Great even heat", This unit is well built, nice design. Takes up little room and is easy to move around. It provides lots of heat and temperature is very controllable

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Perfect for my needs", This is my 2nd Delonghi. Several months back I purchased the larger model 715T with the 24hr thermo setting. So far, very happy with performance of both.

I recently moved back to AZ. The winters are certainly not like back east or mid-west, but it is a area of higher elevation with winter nights in the 20-30s. The home is under 1000 sqf and I did not want to heat with propane at the current high price, (neighbor has filled their propane almost monthly) at about $475 per tank. My last 3 months for total heat, lighting and cooking has been $70, $105 and current bill for Feb at $77.

I use the larger DeLonghi unit in the front room-kitchen area, and the smaller unit for my PC office room. During the coldest nights I kept the larger unit on all night at low temp, then turned it up a notch or two in the morning. I'm fairly cold-blooded and prefer warmer to cold. This has kept me very comfortable. Granted, as some reviewers have said, you need to turn it up and let it get up to desired temp,(2-3 hr). This is the nature of a 'radiator' heater. But once up to temp, it will keep area 'toasty' for rest of day.

Other reviewers have noted a few problems that I have not experienced, (maybe I'm lucky or they just got a defective unit, which certainly can happen). I did not note a 'horrible' long lasting smell. With the smaller unit it did take a few hours of residue burn off, nothing horrible or irritating. The instruction manual notes all this. I was not annoyed by 'loud pops' when unit was going on or off. I did, barely hear it at times,(and I have excellent hearing). Have not had any mechanical or broken items nor leakage. Note: as a reviewer said, they got a slight 'burn' when touching, (the manual also notes as well). When on high the top of unit can get very warm to touch...but why would anyone assume less? It is a 'heater' folks. So let's consider that when using any such electrical device. Would not advise you to: let children play around it, nor do you want to curl your cat on it. But overall, by touching it you are not going to scald yourself. Smart advice: read the manual.

The larger unit I thought would be nice to have the 24 hr thermostat setting, I have only had to use it a couple of times, because after the unit gets to your desired comfort, just dial down a setting and move the thermo dial until the light comes on and it will maintain that temp. In fact, the smaller unit the 7707CM, has a '6' number setting dial that works just as good. This unit, (like the larger one) is also able to go to a 1500w setting, but I have only used it a few times on extreme cold mornings for a couple hours to warm room up a bit faster, then turn it back down to 500 or 700w setting.

So, for me, bottom line at present, I would certainly purchase another DeLonghi for my use. Very comfortable and cost effective. Open the box, remove it and 'pop' out the lock in place fold under wheels, plug it in and you are ready to heat. I felt Amazon price and fast free delivery were all pluses.

"Didn't do the job for me", I received it in operating condition. No problem there. But after running full-tilt all night with both switches and the comfort button switched on and the "thermostat" dial at max, a thermometer 6 feet from the heater only got up to 66 degrees. At 12' (the far end of the 10' x 12' room) it was 63. Returned it.

"Just what we needed", We were looking for an alternative to central heating for a small living room(150-200sq feet?). We had tried ceramic heaters, but they are noisy and very inefficient at heating a whole room, they also tend to get dirty over time. From day one we were happy with our choice. It is silent and heats the room to a comfortable temp. in about 15-20min (OK, we live in San Francisco, so it is never that cold). I always use the "comfortable temperature" button instead of the regular thermostat and once the room is heated, you can reduce the power to the min setting without negative noticing any difference in temp. In short no fumes, no maintenance, not too big, silent and does the job, what else do you want?

"Slow to heat, requires some air movement to work well, and takes up a lot of space", We bought three of these heaters last year to augment our heat pump. My husband likes his just fine, but I am not as satisfied with mine.

The problems I've encountered:

1. The heaters take up a lot of floor space. You have to have some clearance around them to keep nearby items from catching fire and this takes up a lot of much-needed floor space.

2. The heater needs a ceiling fan moving or some other kind of air stirring to work to its best effect. I prefer a heater with a fan setting that will stir the air up instead of just a radiator.

3. The heater is slower than my smaller fan-based heater. If you're really cold coming inside, this heater will not get you warm quickly.

My husband, who is not as cold-natured as I am, uses his DeLonghi heater in the basement just fine. But if you want to get warm faster without having to have a fan on and take up a lot of floor space, you might look at a smaller fan-based heater.

"Used three times and Comfort temp switch broke", The third time I used this heater the comfortemp button stuck and will not turn off. The design is such that you have to hold the unit to even push it and get burned. This is a poor design and I would not recommend this especially to homes with kids as it gets too hot to touch, even to operate the switches. It does heat a space but with a broken switch I don't think it is safe. I have to pay for return postage for service and so is not worth it since there is no service center near me and postage is a lot. I see how this company makes a profit by selling stuff that is too expensice to return for service. Don't buy this.
