"Beautiful Rendering--High Quality" This was a huge hit with my nephew who brought it with him everywhere the first week. He loves playing Runescape, so it was a natural for him. He still loves it, but at least he puts it down while eating! The details are beautiful and it's a high quality pop-up book, well executed, substantial and with great background material. I'm a pop-up fan myself and could have gladly kept it! "Super!" Great pop-up, but Robert Sabuda never fails to delight. Especially liked the house, even has someone using the 'privy'! Kids thought it was super cool and had lots of new terms explained. Good for med. history work. "Astounding" Artistic and material quality and depth are fabulous, I bought three, should have purchased a few more while it was on super sale. "Quality pop-up!" I am usually leery of pop-ups being flimsy and chintzy, but not this one. I bought this as a birthday gift and flipped through after he opened it. I was impressed with the quality of the pop-ups. Would definitely recommend for a youth with an interest in knights, castles, and such. "A winner" My (recently) 6-year-old sucked in his breath when he opened the first page. He's always on the move and a talker so it was gratifying to have him sit and be quiet and this book did it. There aren't many pages but what there is, is filled with enough material to excite any imagination and then they begin talking again (asking questions). The pop-ups are elaborate and well done, full of color and rich with history, including a knighting, how to make various items, a joust, and a razzle-dazzle castle.

What our customer's say! "Just like the great pop-ups of my childhood", I purchased this for my 4-year old as an accompaniment to the castle he's getting for christmas. I am astounded by the quality of this book; it's just like they used to make them. The popups of the castle and the knight are fantastic. The prize however belongs to the interactive pages where the child can pull on tabs to see the workers in the castle at work (hammering nails, weaving, etc), and see two knights jousting. My son has several pop-up books but this one is the best by far. I am amazed at the quality and for the bargain price of $10 it just can't be beat. The description said that these books are essentially 'seconds' but I can't find any flaws anywhere. An overall excellent buy! "Great Pop-up for my 6 year old", I ordered 7 of this pop-up books. One for my six year old and the others all served as great presents for his friends. I like to see the boys' expression when they opened the book and gave off a big "wow". This book comes up with brilliant ideas, and is well crafted. It is both interesting and instructive. Thanks Amazon for this perfect product in a good price. "My grandsons loved this book", I bought this book for two of our grandsons who are 6 and 3 years old. The 3 year old loved the big colorful pop-up pages while the 6 year old loved learning about the story. I, myself, learned a great deal about the medieval days as well. The book is the right size, made well, and very educational. Makes a great gift! "Great for all ages :)", I adore this book and honestly who knew pop up books could be so informative? This book was so much for me to read and great for my little cousin too. She's three years old and she likes to sit on my lap as we look through the pages. Theres even a little catapult inside where you can throw little pieces of paper across the room! (I'll admit I had a bit more fun at that) This book is really a piece of art that I plan to save for her so when she gets older I can give it to her :) that is after I get one for my own collection. Again a great book and an even more fabulous read. "Beautiful! Well-Crafted! ", I have looked at Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart's books on their website as well as Amazon.com. I finally bought this book and I love it! The craftsmanship and artistry is beautiful. Children of any age, including adults like me, will love this book! Not only is it well-crafted but it's educational and loads of fun. After this book, I ordered another! 
Read this reviews before You buy... "great book", Great book. Quality pop=ups. Text is interesting and fun. My kids love the little catapult that actually works. "All Around Wonderful", This is one of the best children's popup books I've seen. It is high quality and high detail. The book is very educational and tells all about lifestyles during this period. I highly recommend it - especially for boys. I bought it for my grandson and read it to him along with my granddaughter and younger grandson. They all very much enjoyed it. They asked questions and learned much. "Excellent as always", As will all their other books, you can't go wrong with Sabuda and Reinhart. Their books are amazing and we're starting a collection. I would highly recommend this book. "Great book, DD loves it!", My 8yo DD was very pleased with this book, which we gave her as a holiday gift. She read it over and over and really studied the elaborate pop-ups. She was taking a class on knights and castles and brought it in to show the other kids. They all wanted one, too! "An engineering marvel", The paper engineering in this book is amazing. My nearly four-year-old daughter adores this book and wants to look at it practically every night--and who can blame her. Not only does the book provide an incredibly detailed pop up of the exterior of a castle, it allows a peek at the inhabitants inside, talks about the various jobs around the castle, and even has a working catapult. My daughter's too young to appreciate the wealth of information contained within this book but she will definitely grow into it and it's really saying something that the mere visuals are so enchanting she wants to see them again and again. This is a truly marvelous book. |
