"Buyer Beware!" Bought at the mall.. worked a couple of times. Then plugged it in and NOTHING!! Yes, I also had the brown stuff in mine after each use. Plenty of others on the market for equal price. have e-mailed the company but I have no doubt I will not be getting a response.. figured it couldn't hurt to try. "Rust" The "brown stuff" mentioned in some of the reviews for this product is most likely rust. If this iron works like a similar model I've owned in the past, it probably requires salt to be added to the water. The added salt would further accelerate the formation of rust. You may have some luck removing rust stains from clothing using fresh or bottled lemon juice on the stains and allowing the clothing to dry in the Sun. Then, wash the clothing as usual. If that doesn't work, you may want to try a product know as, "Iron Out." Summit Brands #IO12N 18OZ Super Iron Out In any case, try to remove the rust stains BEFORE you put the clothing through the dryer (i.e., first try lemon juice and then try Iron Out). Otherwise, the heat from the dryer may cause the stains to set permanently. "BEWARE!" This steam iron uses a chemical reaction to create steam so quickly (about 10 secs.). great concept on paper, however, the byproduct of the chemical reaction is this brown/black sandy material that mixes with the water in the steamer. The end result is wrinkle-free clothes with black stains on them. BUYER BEWARE! "Horrible Product!!! Beware!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!" I bought two of these steamers at the mall while vacationing in Las Vegas. When I got home, both steamers did not work. The sales person at the kiosk said that it had a two year warranty and if I had any problems to contact customer service through their website. I've emailed them twice and have gotten no response. Never again will I buy from those mall kiosks! "Wish would have read this reviews before buying !! " Thought this was going to be a life saver, but was I ever disappointed! Steam only last 8 mins or so .. after third refill, it began to release brown liquid over my pants. uggh!! Paid 30.00 for this with a (free) clothes hanger (8.99 value). Refunds only within 48 hrs, so I'm returning this tomorrow - 25% restocking fee! what a waste of time and money !! DO NOT BUY !!!! would have rated this 1/2 star if it was possible!!!

What our customer's say! "Worst iron I have ever used", Works for one or two times and gone. I bought at a mall kiosk and I made a mistake. That brown stuff spilled all over my carpet and I got to find a way to clean that. "DO NOT Buy", Do not buy. This was such a waste of my money. It did not work at all and the brown stuff got all over my cothes. I wish there was some way to stop these guys from stilling peoples money. "Mine blew up on me", We bought one at the mall and when I brought it home, I tried it and when I pluged it in, it worked fine. I let the steam run out pretty much and then added some more water. I went to plug it in and I noticed that the lights in the room dimmed. I unplugged it and pluged it back in and it sparked a lot. Then when I tried once more it didn't spark but it sure dimmed the lights then tripped my breaker. I thought it might be just that room so I tried the bathroom plug. When I pluged it in the wall outlet sparked so bad it melted the inside of the wall plug. I will have to have an electritian come and fix it now. Waste of $47. I wish I had gone home to check this website out first. DO NOT BUY! "Feels a bit sketchy, but...", I also got this from a mall kiosk, and I've only been using it about 2 weeks. It starts quicky, generates a LOT of steam and stops quickly when it gets tipped over. Ordinarily I use a full-size Conair steamer, and I got this to replace an American Tourister travel steamer because it took so long to make steam. I have been using this since I bought it for all my laundry because it is so fast. Despite the cheap feel, short steaming time between refills and the weird rust-water and maintenance procedures, I have had none of the problems that others had. I use it mostly for steaming, but it also irons well, and I have not had any rust water coming out on my clothes in either case. Some fabrics steam better than others, but performance in all cases has been on par or superior to my other steamers. Can't comment on customer service yet, so I will hang on to the AT travel steamer just in case (a functional, compact and easy to pack alternative for those of you afraid of this one). So far, it is worth the $40 I paid, fingers crossed it keeps working like this... "Product is a complete rip-off/scam; Buyer Beware ", I was in Vegas like another reviewer and bought this product thinking: 1. Quality must be good as it was made in Italy 2. Somehow, it worked in the kiosk and I even tried it myself. I took it home (followed directions perfectly), and it just did not do a great job at all. In fact, it had a brown stuff coming out on the clothes. I will contact customer service and perhaps the credit card company. I suppose, my only saving grace is that hopefully this review and others I will post online will prevent people from making the mistake that I did. A mistake that cost me 40 dollars. Thanks 
Read this reviews before You buy... "This is the worst and the customer service does not respond!!", This stream iron doesn't work it just blows steam and brown stuff on my husbands white dress shirts (the brown stuff does not come off. I called and emailed custmer service they never responded. I paid 40 for this at the mall. Totally ripped off. "Doesn't work", I don't understand how this product worked so well in the kiosk at the mall, because the one I took home sucks. The connection between the handheld steamer portion and the power cord is loose, so that if I hold it at a certain angle the steam stops coming out. Even when the steam comes out, it does not remove wrinkles very well at all. It would be much easier to just use my iron and ironing board. Very disappointing because I bought 3 with a buy-two-get-one-free deal, and all three are worthless. Definitely do not buy this. "Won't get wrinkles out", I got this at one of the koisks in the mall at Christmas. Although it works like wonders in demos, for me it couldn't get the wrinkles out of my husband's cotton shirt. I would not buy again. |
