"Not Received"
It is kind of hard to review a product never received. I am now waiting on a refund claim that is pending. If it is not received shortly I will have to process a claim through the credit card company to protect my consumer rights.

"great software at a good price"
QuickBooks Pro 2008 [OLD VERSION]

I was able to install, set up, and use this software very quickly without any assistance. I would highly recommend it to the small office or home office.

"QB 2008 Pro -- Bad Experience"
I finally decided to upgrade from the 2004 version which was working well, but felt that in 4 years there would be more than cosmetic improvements. I was wrong!

First, the new "Registration" requirement is painful. You first key in all your information rather than have them extract from the old version. The registration steps requires answering multiple marketing questions for THEIR benefit. After you do all that, you are required to call a phone number which apparently ends up, on hold, in some country in Asia. Now you must answer multiple questions duplicating what you just finished keying in. If your e-mail address has changed (whatever concern that is of Intuit!), you're in trouble Then you're warned that if you should dare to upgrade your computer, you must start the process all over again. Note that I didn't use the term "Customer Service!" It doesn't apply to this Intuit product.

Support is nearly impossible to get unless you want to pay and pay and pay! They advertise a "free" 30 day support system, but just try to get it to work. Good Luck!

The QB 2008 Pro product so far seems to work as well as the 2004 version. It is still the best accounting product for small and very small businesses, but I'll be ready to try out any new, competing, product which comes to the market and offers true Customer Service and Support!

"ABYSMAL customer support"
The software works just fine, but it is infuriating trying to get a human on the phone when you call them for support (especially frustrating when I had paid for "premium phone support"). The first call had an estimated 30 minute wait time. Then I used their "faster" online support to get a "special phone number" to call, which I did, and then I was put into "transfer hell" being bounced around to people who couldn't help me.

This call was not during tax time or anytime when they should have an unexpectedly high call volume. This level of service is terrible and inexcusable from a major corporation.

I hope you have better luck than I did if you ever need support...

"Designed by accountants, to ensure I will seek out an accountant!"
Way to confusing to use, and requires way too much time to figure out. I will have to pay someone to do what I bought the program for. Hanging participle, I apologize, but that is how upset I am.

What our customer's say!

"Do NOT buy this product unless you enjoy pain and suffering!", I purchased QuickBooks Pro 2008 several months ago, because it is supposed to be the best out there for small businesses. I have been trying since then to get it to work -- without any success. Each time I tried an installation, something else would go wrong. I would give up in frustration, uninstall and clean my registry to remove all traces, and set it aside to try again later, only to find yet another problem the next time I attempted an install.

I am not a computer novice... I have been in tech support in the past and consider myself a pretty savvy user. I've tried to install the program on two different Vista computers (it is supposed to be 100% Vista compatible), and have received everything from .NET errors to the inability of the install to find Flash 8 on my system (I did have Flash 9 at the time). So I removed Flash 9, installed Flash 8, got the .NET stuff working, followed every guideline and help I could find at quickbooks.com/support, and prepared myself to try again.

This most recent time I bypassed Flash detection in the install, and it seemed at least to finally install successfully -- but when I tried to launch the program I got "Unrecoverable Error Code: 00000 38772" and it crashed again.

Parallel to all these installation attempts, I've also been on a fruitless search to find a tech support phone number to call somebody. They do have a contact form on their website and will give you a Case ID number, but here's a tip: Don't try it with Firefox. The form only works with Internet Explorer. So I finally got through, spent more than half an hour on the phone with India, experiencing what another reviewer wrote about repeated "please hold" and "please wait while I check that" comments, only to be told that he did not have any record of the error code I received, and I would have to "subscribe" to their tech support service in order for him to help me further.

That's it -- I'm finished, and I'm going back to Quicken, which has never failed me. So, anybody want an unregistered copy of QuickBooks Pro? It's only slightly damaged from my throwing it against the wall a few times.

"QuickBooks 2008", Ordered this CD on line with no hassle. Very easy. CD came within a few days and have been using it for the past month with no problems.
Seller was very quick to get it out to me and it got here in good shape.

"Never again Intuit", It's getting harder and harder to find product reviews on Amazon. I had to scroll down almost 3 pages of Intuit plugging and product description just to find the first review. Apparently, Amazon seems to be forgetting a little bit just what made it so popular.

In any event, I'll keep it short. I ordered Quickbooks Pro 2008 and installed it. And, at the end of the install process, what do you think pops up? A window asking me to call Intuit. Yes, I could NOT USE the software that I PAID FOR without calling Intuit ON THE PHONE and registering my product only after giving them all sorts of information about myself AND MY BUSINESS!!!

I called and quickly told them that I was sending the software back. I think I spoke to someone in India or something.

I'll go and find accounting software that doesn't require me calling the company and giving all sorts of personal information about myself and my business.

"WORST PRODUCT EVER", I was forced to upgrade to 2008 or I would no longer be able to get payroll updates or email invoices. Despite paying each year for a payroll subscription on top of paying for the 2008 upgrade I did not need or want, I can not email invoices, can only print sometimes, and the payroll function malfunctioned and paid all of my employees their gross earnings without taking out any taxes. Was unable to get any support. They wanted to charge me to talk to someone even though it was their own product that was broken. I have lost thousands of dollars in unbillable time spent cleaning up their mess and now have to find another way to send my invoices. THIS COMPANY DESERVES TO GO BANKRUPT - THEY SUCK IN EVERY WAY.

"Worst Quickbooks Program Yet", I have used Quickbooks software since their 1999 version and this 2008 Pro version is, by far, the worst software version they have created and possibly the worst software nightmare out there. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! They have errors that have been there since 2007 when the software was released that they have done nothing to fix and obviously never plan to fix in any manner. They're too focused on making the next year's version and charging you even more money for it. The past two years, 2007 and 2008, have had so many problems that it isn't even funny and all you get is a message for months saying that they are "aware of the problem and working on a solution". Then if you call support they don't even know what to do...I know more of their program than their own support personnel do. Will be looking at buying a competitor's software to replace Quickbooks on 3 companies that I do books for. Intuit has had more than there fair share of chances to improve their product and it just keeps getting worse.

"Make sure to contact customer service to walk you through setup.", Quickbooks is perfect for my small business. It is so amazingly flexable and time saving. I've used it for years now so I have the familiarity bias, but you definitely can't beat it for the price.

Just make sure to get help while setting things up. Their tech support is only free for one month so use it! When you first install it asked some questions about what type of company you are, and if you choose poorly you will have to either set everything up yourself or try to find a better choice (which I'm having to do right now).

"A Must have for The Business Owner", As a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, I recommend this product to ALL of my Clients. Trust me, this will help you tremendously.

"Hooked on Quickbooks", I bought Quickbooks Pro just a few weeks ago for our first restaurant and I am already hooked!! I love its simplicity - just plug in the field and that's it. Very easy to use even for someone who's never balanced anything more complex than a personal check book.

"Software is okay but Intuit's high pressure sales tactics aren't", This version of Quickbooks is pretty neat...I just upgraded from 2004 QB.
When I called to register my QB, however, I couldn't believe how ridiculous their sales tactics were...they tried to sell me other QB related services/products 8 times during the call I made to register my product. Not to mention the endless pop-ups within the software advertising their other services/products. It's ridiculous. A shame that we are pretty much forced to use this software because our accountants do...

"CONSUMER ROBBERY!!!", Quickbooks 2008 is a step backwards. I previously used QB2002 and was very happy to continue using it until intuit slowly forced an upgrade.I am very disapointed with the performance of the new version. Intuit does not allow you to transfer the license to another system and will force you to buy another copy inorder to use QB2008 on any additional system, so if you have a laptop & a desk top, you'd better choose carefully which one you're gonna install it on or you'll be sorry. And don't even bother calling customer service because they won't help you, oh & it'll cost additional cash, just to hear the support guy tell you that!!!
