Others say...
"Great little tea pot" I'm so happy to have found a glass stovetop tea kettle. It's easy to clean and looks nice. It has a cute little whistle and I don't have to worry about heavy metal contamination. "Nice kettle, but plastic handle is a problem" I use this kettle for boiling my coffee and tea water. It's attractive; I like the very simple look. My only compliant is that the handle feels a little flimsy. I wonder how long it will last. Also, the plastic handle gets pretty hot when I'm boiling water. About 50% of the time, I need to use a pot holder to pick up the kettle. Still, this kettle is much cheaper than other glass (or metal) kettles, and I'm happy with it so far. "Mine have all broken" Maybe it is just that I'm hard on them, but I have had several and they keep cracking. After the first one cracked and I figured I was being too rough with it, I started being very careful to put it down gently, etc., but the most I have had one last is several months. Even so, I must admit I love the idea of being able to see the water, knowing if there is a mineral buildup and being able to clean it thoroughly, and knowing there is no leaching of metal into the water. However, after about my fifth one in just a short period of time, I think I will try something else. "I Love My Whistler!" I'd been wanting a new tea pot and haven't been able to find a glass whistler locally. This is exactly what I was looking for. I love being able to see the water level and I love the clear glass and the ease of cleaning it. Well worth the low price! "Would buy another one but a bigger size" I like this kettle. It looks very nice and is easy to clean. Next time I buy another one, I will get a bigger size because the amount of water you can put in the maximum line is not *really* that number of cups. I think the company is using the term "cup" based on a lesser amount of oz. for measuring. The handle can get hot but it doesn't really bother me.

What our customer's say! "For What It Is, It's a Good Little Tea Kettle", You get what you pay, OK this kettle is not the greatest quality tea kettle you are ever liable to buy, the handle does get a bit hot, that's what pot holders are for - get over it. It does seem a bit flimsy, if it last 6 months I'll be amazed, but for $7.99 I'll just keep buying more. After throwing away a ton of $50 - $60 tea kettles, because no matter how well I take care of them after about a year they all start to rust, flake or get a bunch gunk built up inside, so I figured I would go the cheap route, first I bought a piece of junk at the local Mega Mart, the first pot of tea was so foul I was going to return it, but figured it would cost more in gas to get back to the store than I would actually get back, so I pitched it in to the recycle bin after just one use. Then I found this little gem of a kettle and figured what the heck I'll give it a try, I am quite happy with it, the glass does not impart any flavor in the water and it's made of real borosilicate glass, not that cheap tempered glass the more famous kitchen glassware makers are passing off as the real thing. Buy 2 because it is going to break, but who cares - They're Cheap "Love this tea kettle", I love this tea kettle. The glass is strong, and it has the cutest little whistle when the water is boiling. I drink a lot of green teas that require less than boiling water, so this allows me to see when the water is close to boiling. "Great Product for the price", This kettle works as promised. Although it is sort of annoying that you have to lift OFF the whole top in order to pour the water out, it's not a deal breaker. Contrary to other reviews, it is very easy to pull off the top when your water has finished boiling. I think, for the price, this is a great item. "great deal, great kettle", I have to note a couple of things. First off I research a lot of the stuff I buy this kettle included. In some of the reviews customers mentioned hot handles and having to use two hands to pour because of the lid. One review mentioned off setting the kettle so the handle isn't in the line of fire/heat. This worked amazingly, the handle was quite cool. As far as the lid issue, perhaps the design has changed? The lid has in big letters remove lid prior to pouring, I remove the lid before taking the kettle off the stove to pour. I have uploaded a picture of my kettle sitting off center on my electric stove. Everything else about the kettle is true; loud whistle, easy to clean, fast boil. In short THIS IS A GREAT KETTLE FOR UNDER $15. I had an electric plastic kettle but I am phasing out all plastic that is used with heat. "Definitely would buy again!", I love this glass kettle. I was so glad to find a glass kettle of such a great quality that is not made in China. Extremely satisfied! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Such a lovely thing", This is very nice spot, quality is good, looks nice but only two things not good no filter,You need to buy it separetely, the cover is little complicated, but this teapot is nice at all, will recommend! "My First Tea Kettle", I am only ranking this 4 star because of the price. My first inclenation would only be three stars. That's not to say this isn't a nice little kettle, just not what I was led to believe. First off the handle must be removed to pour, which means it will eventually get lost, which means when it does it won't wistle, which means I will be sad. The second thing is the little wire hickey that goes between the stove eye and the kettle. Com'on people! We put a man on the moon nearly 40 years ago and we can't figure out a cost effective way of keeping that little jingus on the bottom of the kettle? And of course the little sucker will get lost faster than the stupid lid! Over all it seems like a nice kettle, just not what I had in mind. Probably was there somewhere in black and white right in front of me, but who reads these darned reviews anyhow? "bad handle", I was thrilled to finally find a glass kettle but, within 6 months, this item was unusable. The handle became so loose, that it was dangerous to use. I would turn the anchoring screw to make it hold firmly again and within two days it was unusable again. "I love it", We've had problems with our tea kettles rusting - we like to keep water in them so we can have tea anytime. This new glass pot is great - it boils fast, I can see the progress and it can't rust!!! "Love the Function, Don't Like the Design", In all aspects except design, this is a fantastic, functional kettle for the price. It is durable, has a decent capacity, whistles nicely, and fits just right on a medium gas flame. I haven't noticed any problems with the handle getting too hot. Maybe that's because of placement over the heat source. (?) But, I have definitely noticed that the lid gets very hot when the gas flame is too high. What I don't like about this kettle is the "Whistling Kettle" font on the side. Why did the Medelco design team feel the need to do that? The white measurements are great, but the big white font earns negative points. That aside, I would definitely recommend this piece to anyone looking for a replacement kettle. ![]() |
