"Not working as well as I'd hoped"
I wish I could use this product as well as the user in the video. This person is even better than the chick on the Williams-Sonoma video. I purchased this product because I have braces and can't eat corn on the cob. (This is a tragedy when you live in IL during the summer.)

After a few attempts, I just can't get it to work properly. I have small hands, which may be part of the problem. The unit comes apart when I try to use it, but when I try to clean it, it's hard to get it to come apart. I'm not above admitting user error in either case. I'm going to keep at it and if things get better, I'll revise my review.

"Oxo Good Grips Corn Stripper"
I was skeptical at first, but this product works great! The only setback is that it is difficult to open without corn flying thru the air. Careful, it is very sharp.

"Quick and easy to use"
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3P42WGZ2I8AQN This video shows how easy it is to use this tool!

"I don't recommend this product!!!!"
The Oxo Good Grips corn stripper is very dangerous!!!!! I bought this as a birthday present for my father. The very first time he used it he cut his finger open and had to get 3 stitches. So please don't buy this product.

"OXO Corn Stripper is wonderful!"
I purchased this OXO Corn Stripper because I have 2 children in braces and am not fond of any other corn stripping method. We tried the OXO last night - we were all really impressed. It's very easy to use - just run the exposed blade in the back along the corn and not only does it smoothly cut the corn, the corn is all collected in the small container on the front! No mess! After cutting the corn, you simply take the 2 piece container apart and rinse with water - very, very easy to clean! One word of warning, I would not let small children use this corn stripper because the sharp blade is exposed in the back and they could accidently hurt themselves. All in all, I gave this product 5 stars since I thought it was awesome!

What our customer's say!

"Never got the product, apparently they were out", The item never came, but they gave me a credit on my credit card. Wished I could have gotten it, even if I had to wait a while.

"Corn-off-the-cob the fast and easy way!", The Oxo corn stripper made short work of my leftover grilled corn-on-the-cob. It was a quick and neat way to get corn off the cob and into freezer bags so we can enjoy it this winter. Other than a minor nick to a finger that got in the way, this tool did a wonderful job, and I would recommend it. Just keep those fingers out of the way!

"Take it from this Southern Boy and current Illinois resident!!!", Born and raised int he south, corn is somewhat of a Summertime obsession for me. Now that I live in Illinois, its even more so. I bought this item because of all the splatter and mess that comes with using a knife or mandolin to remove kernels from the cob. Once again OXO comes through with a wonderfully simple and efficient product. There is still some splatter, but I don't have to wash down the walls and floor when I'm done. Four strokes down a cob and all kernels are off! The first time I used it I was actually speechless for a moment. Surely it couldn't be THAT easy, can it? Well, it is!
A great kitchen gadget and okay, its a unitasker, but its one I can live with. Do be careful of the blades though, they are sharp!

"Corn Stripper", I don't know how I managed with out the corn stripper. It is fast easy to use. There is very little clean up. I would suggest placing the corn stripper in the middle of the cob and running the stripper to each end. Using a large bowl to strip the corn and empty the corn into makes clean-up alot easier. I will never go back to using a knife again.

"Oxo Good Grips Corn Stripper ", Best deal I ever got on a "stripper"!!! Seriously, this is the cat's meow when it comes to removing corn from the cob for frying or cassaroles! Very little effort and big results. Can't beat the price either. Buy one for your chef...you can't go wrong!

"Another great tool from OXO", I love to cook but I live in a small urban condo and don't have a lot of cupboard space so I have to be very picky with what kitchen utensils I buy but this one definately warrants a space in my droor. Before I had this I rarely used fresh corn for anything but corn on the cob but now I am going to use fresh corn for everything when it is in season because this tool works so great. Cheers to OXO for solving an age old problem!

"Works great, makes stripping corn easy", My husband has a retainer and so he can't eat corn on the cob. With this little gadget, he can enjoy grilled corn with the rest of us. This is much better than other corn strippers we've used, because it has the corn catching cup and nice wide teeth. It works well, but be careful to follow the included instructions on how to hold your corn, or you might cut yourself! A really nice, convenient product.

"corn stripper", I really love this thing! There is not such a mess in taking the corn off the cob and having it go everywhere. I just get a tiny bit accumulated and it doesn't splash everywhere, it stays in one place. I think it's very easy to clean and I put it in the dishwasher. The only thing is that it does take a bit of practice as I sometimes need to go down the cob again. You need to keep it close to the cob. But for me, this is a really great kitchen tool.
