What our customer's say!

"great quality but...", This is a great pot designed for commercial use. It is fairly heavy, which is good for heat distribution. BUT... The problem I have with the pot is that when it is full with water, it is too heavy for me to lift to the sink to drain. This is where the inserts would come in very handy, but this particular pot in this size does not come with one (and neither does the 24-qt).

The price for this pot is very steep here. Sams club has this same exact pot for $49.97 and the bigger 24-qt pot for about $5 more (as of 9/3/08). Walmart and Target also sell them, so shop around.

"Big pot, will boil", I got this pot to make pasta for 6+ dinner guests. I know it will handle 8 diners but may be able to handle 10.

Why a large commercial pot in a house? Pasta needs a lot of water to cook. Small amounts of water to pasta means that it will have to cook longer, therefore, soggy noodles. A large amount of water speeds up the process.

That said, I really enjoy this pot. It's light enough to clean easily but heavy enough to heat evenly and be rugged. I expect to have it for a long time.

Maybe 20 quart is not for you. That's not for me to decide. If you make pasta for more than 4 people, I would recommend the Tramontina commercial stock pots in either the 16 or 20 quart sizes. As long as you have the room, I don't think you would regret it.
