"Decent product with one flaw", I am a person asks for a well designed product, and this isn't because the press does not go all the way to the bottom (stops about an inch short), so you cannot actually "press" the coffee - a ridiculous oversight which is particularly annoying when you only want to brew one cup. I would have given this 5 stars, but it gets 2 because of this oversight.

"Great press!", Great coffee press! I bought it for my husband, and he absolutely loves it. Once you have tasted coffee that has been pressed, you never want to go back to a filtered coffee maker.

"Wonderful coffee, fragile glass", I've been using Bodum Chambords for about 2 years now. The coffee is great. Press coffee has a much better flavor than any other method I've tried (though I haven't tried Bodum's vacuum stovetop coffee maker).

However, I've gone through three beakers so far and am about to buy another. The beakers are quite fragile, and I'm careful not to abuse them except for one thing that I never seem to learn my lesson about. I often set the grinder basket on the top of the beaker and tap it to make it release stuck grounds, and that's been enough to crack two of the beakers from the top down. I should know better.

Bodum makes a polycarbonate replacement beaker, but Amazon doesn't carry it, and every time I look at the Bodum online store, it's out of stock.

"Really 4 cups", I'm happy with my purchase. This is a standard french press. Just remember that "8 cups" equals 4 regular cups of coffee at most.

"love the coffee, but too fragile", I've owned one of these for a number of years and have always been pleased. However, I recently, broke my original beaker. Completely my fault. I replaced that beaker immediately with a true bodum chamord replacement beaker, and it was broken within a month. This one, however, was not my fault. I boiled, brewed and plunged as always, and when I went to pour I noticed that the beaker had cracked around the spout. It appeared to be a heat fracture. Again, I replaced the beaker and again it didn't last a month. The third one broke in exactly the same area as the second, apparently from tapping the plastic grinder receptacle on the glass when putting the grounds into the beaker.

Unfortunately, I think that the beakers just aren't being made as well as they were when i purchased originally, and for that reason I won't be buying another replacement. My Frieling Stainless model is on its way.

"Consistently Good coffee", Excellant for making/enjoying consistent good cups of coffee. Use course ground coffee for best results. Cleaning out residue a little cumbersome or it would be a five star rating in my opinion.

"Lovely coffee!", It works great and is dishwasher safe. All-purpose ground coffee works in it too.

"Makes a great pot of coffee", I've been using this press a lot since it arrived, and I love it. Cleanup is a bit more involved than with a standard coffee pot, but it's worth it for the excellent brew that the press makes. I have recommended it to my friends and family.

"Just like in France?", I have a son who lives in France and have been served coffee by him and his in-laws and friends but it has never been from a Coffee Press! They will all be surprised to have me serve them gourmet coffee in California from a Bodum Chambord 8-Cup Coffee Press! It seems to work well, is easy to operate and easy to clean.
