"wheel makes the game like real driving" My family has enjoyed the Wii racing games. The Nintendo wheel makes them seem very realistic. I consider them an essential part of the game system. If you have a Wii and don't have a racing game, get one as soon as you can and be sure to get the wheel. "Steer you in the right direction." The new way to drive Mario cart is great even though the game could use a little tweaking. The small size of the wheel makes it easy to hold up and steer smoothly without over correction. The additional Wheels are not that expensive, so if you will be playing multi-player you should consider getting an additional one to keep the race "fair" :-) Very highly recommended! "Helpful if you're used to a real vehicle" If you're used to driving a real gas burning vehicle, this will increase you enjoyment of WII driving games ten fold. If you've already mastered driving sims using the classic Nintendo controllers, you'll probably do fine without it. I've only given 4 out of 5 starts for the overall rating because it's just a piece of plastic, molded like steering wheel. You could probably make something similar for less $ with an old frisbee or pie plate.

What our customer's say! "Must have for racing games", Racing games for the Wii can be played without the wheel. Racing games for the Wii are enjoyed to there maximum potential with the wheel. Would recommend using Official Nintendo Wii Wheel for the these types of games. Have used other 3rd party wheels and I have to say Nintendo has it right with this one. "Make Rainbow Road Your Bitch.", I am tired of all the Wii Wheel haters. Mario Kart is way more fun with the wheel. It is what sets the game apart from Double Dash, etc. I just bought a second wheel and I am looking forward to trying out some split screen racing. "Wii - Wonderful console for all the family and friends", Wii is the perfect device to share time and fun with the family and friends. It is not a common console, it is more than that. Keep in mind that I'm 46 yers old and I belong to another generation, and this invention for me is great!! Try to test it and enjoy! "It's well made.", The Wii Wheel is well made, solid, and attractive. As far as its usefulness is concerned, that's completely up to the buyer. My girlfriend prefers the wheel hands down when playing Mario Kart. Personally, I find the wiimote/nunchuck combo to be the best for me. Since that's up to personal preference, there's no reason to include it in my rating. So the product gets 5 stars for what it is -- a well-designed, well-finished product with good ergonomics. Read this reviews before You buy... "Gotta have it", If you have more than one Wii controller and more than one person playing Mario Kart, consider the Wii Wheel. While it is not an absolutely essential accessory for playing the game it will improve the gaming environment for all present. :) The Wii Wheel is not that expensive and it will eliminate the fuss over which child gets to play with a real steering wheel. I find I cannot get used to steering with a rectangular block held in my hands, it's just not natural! "More fun with 2 wheels", Got this extra wheel so we could race each other and it turned out to be a good decision. Mario Kart is a blast, a must have if you own the Wii. "Learning Curve", I previously mastered Mario Kart:Double Dash for Gamecube and felt though Mario Kart:Wii would be just easy and fun. It's not easy. Drifting is more essential and the Wii wheel takes getting used to. It was really frustrating, but now I really enjoy the game. I especially enjoy the incorporation of 'classic' mario kart race tracks. "Exact same as what comes with game", What's there to say, its the exact same wheel that comes with the game. Can you play MarioKart without the wheel? Yes. So why buy another wheel? It makes the whole experience a little more enjoyable and easier. Can you imagine trying to drive your car with a bar instead of a wheel? It also makes the trigger button more accessible, which is a big plus on multiplayer and 150cc. There is nothing to plug into the controller, it just sits/squeezes into place. "Get it Used!", Just got a used Nintendo brand Wii Wheel for 7.99 at Game stop. It is just a piece of plastic so there really is no need to worry about it not working. It's selling for 14.99 at Target and 9.99 + shipping on Amazon. So if you want to save a few bucks and aren't planning on buying something else on Amazon to get the free shipping, call a local game stop or EB games and see if they have it used! As for the wheel itself, all I will say is that you should definitely use it since it's what makes the game more unique from other versions of Kart. As a gamer, I am more comfortable with the nunchuck, but I like the wheel because it is a more authentic Wii experience. |
