"Just got mine..very impressed"
We have carpet in a couple of rooms, where hardwood hasnt been put down yet, and also have 3 small kids..so spills are common here. I inherited my home, and before i ever received it from my mom she decided to put indoor-outdoor carpet in the kitchen, of all places. So the carpet in there was in desperate need of carpet cleaning. I received my steam cleaner and the kitchen floor was the first to get cleaned up..and i was very impressed with the outcome. Over the last few years we've owned/used 3-4 different brands of steam cleaner, and all of them seemed to be cheaply manufactured and used parts that wouldnt hold up to normal wear and tear. I think this particular brand is a winner and wound up just cleaning the whole house because i wanted to use it...and it worked great. Carpets looked and felt clean as they could be..so my review of this item is a positive one.

"Great Steamer Vac!"
I've owned this Steamer for a month now, before this the only other steamer I have used was a 15 year old Bissel. I have used it 3 times, and I have to say, I love this thing! It did a great job on my 5 year old high traffic carpet. I did not have any stains or anything, but it really made the carpet stand up again, and it made a noticable difference. This steamer is super easy to use, both tanks can be removed easily and quickly, with no mess. The rotating brushes pop off easily for cleaning. Removing hair or whatever doesn't go into the tank is also very easily removed. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially for the price. With the exception of adding water, this is almost as easy to use as a regular vacuum cleaner.

"Does what it is suppose to do - Suck Up Water"
I tried a Bissell and was very unhappy with the results. A good carpet cleaner should put down the chemical and then suck up as much water as possible. The bissell would put down the water but would hardly suck anything up. I went and got this Hoover and was very impressed with the sucking ability. I also like how there is a separate tank for clean water and another tank for dirty water. I can actually see how much dirty water there is. With the bissell, they use the same tank using a bladder for the clean water.. with that, you can't tell how much dirty vs clean water you have.

Overall, this is a good price for what you get and I would suggest the Hoover over the Bissell.

What our customer's say!

"Love this machine", We have two toddlers and a dog. They're a little hard on our carpets and the sofa. Our old steamer was a Hoover and it never let us down. But it couldn't do anything for the sofa. So we upgraded to the Dual V. It's a large machine, but not too heavy or unreasonable. I love that the box it shipped in includes a small bottle of carpet cleaner so that you can play with it as soon as it arrives. The Dual V is easy to use, and it pulled more crud out of my carpets than I care to admit. Totally easy to clean afterwards, too.

For cleaning the sofa, it isn't so much a steam cleaner as it is a wet scrub. So if your sofa has dry clean materials, I wouldn't recommend this cleaner. Our micro-suede sofa looks like new again. I haven't purchased the floor attachment for it yet, but I intend to. I can't wait to see what it does for our tile.

"As Claimed!", I had read lots of reviews on this and several other products and decided on the Hoover. It lives up to its positive reputation. I use it mainly on carpets and it works really well on doggie mistakes-I have 4 doxies.

"Great till it breaks!", This cleaner is awesome! Great settings from spill pick up to power scrub. The 1st time I used it however, the brushes stopped. I went to the book and read that I could try and clean them or a filter found on the bottom. Took the brushes out and rinsed all the brushes. The filter was clean. So I replaced the brushes and after a little fooling around with them the spin again! Finished up the room, cleaned the machine and put it away. Took it out again yesterday to clean a dog mess and no matter what I do the brushes will not work. I am going to attempt to find a replacement part. When this machine is working it does a great job, but since I've had it, the not working part seems to be more than not.

"Mixed Blessing-Hoover F7412-900 SteamVac", We purchased the Hoover F7412-900 to replace an old and failing Bissell we'd used for many years. Be aware like -most- other Hoover SteamVac models, the only steam you will get is from the hot tap water you put into it and not from a heating element built-in. This shampooer is built solid and should hold up to abuse and routine use over the years. I rated it only 3 stars because the elongated and very flat vacuum passage that sucks up the dirty water as you shampoo clogs easily and quickly, especially if you have dogs and embedded hair on your carpets as we do. I noticed it wasn't sucking up the water like it should have, leaving dirty streaks behind to have to do again. While we vacuumed our carpets aggressively before shampooing, used the recommended Hoover shampoo (Home Depot carries it in large sizes), the shampooer simply can't do it's work once it's vacuum passages clog. Removing the clogs requires a thin paint scrapper or other thin tool to reach into the recesses of the vacuum housing to grab the hair chunks trapped there and it -will- happen again over and over and all too quickly. Even extensive dry vacuuming won't remove all dog hair while shampooing using water will always tend to lift off hair that is well bonded to the carpet (and vacuuming can't get up). Thus, regarding pet hair, you'll always be dealing with a fair amount of pet hair being pulled out and off the carpet during the shampooing process. Another issue is the dirty water bin where the dirty vacuumed water is held for disposal. It's lid uses a very light and flimsy foam gasket to keep water from leaking out past the lid and base where they meet. The gasket material will never hold up for long as we noticed it seemed to be crumbling and flaking off in spots and the lid does not press hard against the gasket anyway when clamped down and only light pressure is used to press the lid down against the gasket. This bin leaked a bit as dirty water sloshed inside of it during the shampooing and movement of the shampooer. For $200, this unit is clearly a mixed blessing. It has the brawn and power (and it is LOUD) to get the job done, but, some basic flaws that will prevent enough satisfaction for many to choose to keep it. We returned it only a day or two after trying it out. If you don't have pets or dogs with hair/shedding, it may work out for you.

"Works Great", I saw the product at a retailer, then saw it priced less on Amazon (plus no tax or shipping), so I said what the heck, try it. I have a medium-tan carpet and two dogs and two cats. The cleaner was easy to assemble. All you need is a phillips screw driver. I'm not to swift at using carpet cleaners, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy to use and it REALLY WORKED!

One of the attractive features is the large waste tank. It allows you to cover allot of area before stopping to empty it. Also, the vacuum really sucks up the water/cleaner solution in the carpet, the carpet dried really fast. I wouldn't hesitate using it the same day if I were hosting a family get together. I highly recommend this SteamVac.
