"Oster hand mixer", I ordered an Oster Hand Mixer and after ordering read a review that was not good. I was then sorry I had placed ths order. Imagine my surprise when I received a Sunbeam hand mixer instead. I am delighted with the new hand mixer and would recommend this item to anyone wanting this particular appliance.

"Oster Hand Mixer", I just bought one of these today, even though the reviews all seem to say that it runs fast. This is something that you would expect from a mixer with a 250 watt motor. This is comparable to the power of a stand mixer. It' does run FAST. As far as keeping things in the bowl, well, when my momma taught me how to use a mixer 40 plus years ago, she said to stir the ingredients together first, either with the spatula that you are going to use while you are using the mixer or with the blades. It's a technique that has worked well for me and makes this super powerful mixer a pleasure with which to mix.

"Defective product!", I bought this mixer because the price seemed pretty good, it had a retractable cord, and came with plenty of accessories. However, the first time I used it, I realized that a "low speed" does NOT exist on this mixer! Even on the lowest setting, the stuff I was mixing in the bowl went flying all over my kitchen. There seems to be little difference between low and high speeds. My mom happens to own the same one (we bought them around the same time), and hers has the exact same problem. She spoke with Oster on the phone today, and apparently they've had a lot of complaints about this model. They're sending her a replacement. I plan to call them tomorrow to see if they will send me a replacement also.
Bottom line, unless you want to lose half of what you're mixing and actually LIKE scrubbing things off the wall, this is NOT the mixer for you!
