"The trick to good cocoa"
The first two or three K-cup cocoa cups I brewed were pretty wretched, even when I shook the cup heavily before using and used the smallest brew size. Then I decided to put a little mik in a mug (an ounce or so), open the K-cup and empty its contents into the mug, then brew hot water only, using the intermediate brew size, directly into the mug. The resulting cocoa was very good and the extra step of emptying the K-cup was no work at all.

I'm not sure I really needed the extra milk, but I like milky cocoa so I added it.

I'll be curious to see if this hint helps anyone else.

PS I still prefer the taste of the powdered cocoa packets (Ghirardelli) that came as a sample with my brewer (or similar ones from Bellagio), but the K-cups are convenient, too

"Attention coffee lovers!"
This is seriously the best coffee I've ever had. I usually have to water down my coffee with creamer because it is bitter, or just plain tastes bad. I am NOT a black coffee drinker - until now. This blend is so unbelievable that I drink it black!

"Extemely week-anorexic for hot chocolate"
Don't waste your money on this. It's awful. Stick with making a cup of hot water from the Keurig and adding a good quality package of hot chocolate.

"bad hot cocoa---easily"
Yes, it is easy, but not good at all. Hot water with little chocolate flavor---Swiss Miss is way better!

"Excellent taste great value!"
Terrific cocoa. Really satisfied my sweet tooth and makes a great cup of hot chocolate

What our customer's say!

"tastes like watery cocoa from a highway machine", A box of Green Mountain cocoa came with the Keurig machine I bought. I tried all the three cup size settings, including the 5 ounce and shook the little cup first, but it still tastes very watery, which of course is what it is made of. Real hot chocolate fans will be disappointed in this drink, while kids may like it. It's okay if you want something hot, but not coffee or tea.

"NOT BAD, BUT THERE'S BETTER", We've used this product for several months but recently discovered a superior product- it's Tully's Bellaccino Hot Cocoa, which has a much richer cocoa flavor.

"This one was a miss!", I like the convenience and quality of the k-cups and thought the hot chocolate would be as good as the coffee and tea. The problem is the chocolate is a fine powder so it remains in the container instead of dissolving and flowing into the mug. It is better to run a mug of hot water from your Keurig and then stir in your favorite packet of hot chocolate mix.

"Watery because it doesn't work", The other reviewers who stated it's watery is because the machine does not get all the cocoa out of the k-cup. It is actually DELICIOUS hot cocoa. To get it to "work" right, you have to either just cut open the k-cup and dump it into your mug, then let the machine put water in your mug. OR Run it through the machine, then cut the k-cup open and scrape the rest of the powder out and stir it into your cup.

Either way, don't use the largest cup setting as this will dilute it too much...medium is fine, small is richest. This IS actually REALLY delicious hot cocoa! but would be better in envelopes to avoid the k-cup plastic waste, since the k-cup cocoa mix does not get completely "used up" in the machine anyway.

"Good for its purpose", Yes, its not the small town diners creamy thick hot chocolate, but if you want a quick, low cal (60 cal) cup of hot chocolate that tastes good, i recommend this product. One tip, I use it on the small cup setting; it tastes better to me and not as watery.

"somewhere between plain and awful", All I can say is this is the weakest brew I've ever had out of a coffee machine. The flavoring is also blatantly artificial. It's convenient but it's not good.

"Not good at all", I thought it was great that there was hot cocoa for the keurig machine. this is so watery when you make it. green mountain needs to improve it. it tastes like chocolate flavored water. if you make a product that is intended for the machine it should work well in the machine. i love all of the k-cup coffees but this cocoa sucks.

"Save Your Money!", Even though convenient, the "Hot Cocoa" really isn't exactly what is says. It is more like drinking colored water. It really was so bad, that my partner tore open the cups and placed the powder in milk. It took 2 k-cups to make one 10 ounce cup of cocoa. It was okay then, but it's much easier to get some good ole` fashioned Hershey's chocolate and make a cup that I would just crave. Besides, living close to Hershey, where the air constantly smells like milk chocolate, supports my local economy!

"Not Good", We got a new K-Cup machine and were very excited to try the hot chocolate. It was not good at all; it was like drinking hot water with a very, VERY slight taste of some sort...possibly chocolate. I would not purchase this item again.

"Weak unless you excavate the rest of the cocoa out", The output of Green Mountain Cocoa K-cups is highly variable - sometimes it's a well-flavored cup of cocoa, sometimes it's just brown water.

This is because sometimes, a significant amount of the cocoa powder stays behind in the cup after the brew cycle. To really get a consistent product, you have to pierce the foil top to see if there is stuff left behind; scoop it out and stir it in, and you get the well-flavored cocoa some reviewers are raving about.

This, however, is ludicrous - it defeats the fire-and-forget interaction that makes the Keurig worth it.

The only thing that saves the product from a 1-star review is that its quick sugar hit has prevented many an afternoon nap at work. :D
