"Staub out performs Le creuset. "
The Stuab saute pan I received was not the long handled pan pictured, but rather the black matte pan with the short beach wood handle and open helper handle on the other end. This is much better as the shorter handle is easier to position on the stove, taking up less room. As far as my review Staub is by far much better than Le Creuset in my opinion. The quality of the glass enamel is nearly non-stick. The pans cast iron coloring is beautiful and best of all unlike many of Le Creusets products Staub is exclusively made in FRANCE with pride. The price is great and the quality is certainly above anything else I have seen.

What our customer's say!

"Wow- what a great pan!", We recently moved and installed an Induction Cooktop in our new Kitchen . . . I cook professionally, so I have used Induction previously, but only had a single hob countertop model . . . using Induction exclusively meant replacing all my older All-Clad and Calphalon with Induction-ready cookware.
Finding this Staub pan on amazon.com at this price was amazing . . . Staub is obviously superior to LaCreuset and Lodge (more consistent, better interior, nicer finish), and would be my first choice at full price, but at this price, it can't be beat. I made the mistake of picking-up a (China-made) cast iron skillet (similar to a lot of stuff on amazon.com and e.bay) to try-out the cooktop . . the results using it almost made me wish we hadn't gone with Induction . . . the first time I used this Staub results were great, and, as it seasons, will only get better.
Great product . . better price . .shipped in perfect condition in just 3 days (for free!).

"Incorrect description", I have owned this sauté pan for a couple of weeks now. I love it. The quality is very good. One reviewer said that this pan is much better than Le Creuset brand. I have owned several Le Creuset cookware for years (grill pan, sauce pan, and French oven). I am not sure if that statement is true. Le Creuset cookware has very high quality also. However, Le Creuset doesn't have this shape of sauté pan and the price is much higher. I am glad that I have this pan in such a good deal ($40). I found that Amazon lists this pan as a 10-inch pan. It is incorrect. The size is about 11 and half inches (29 cm). I wish that this pan can have a lid. My 10-inch lid is too small and 12-inch lid is too big for this pan. This is the only disadvantage I can think of.

"Top quality, excellent pan", As others have said, this is the shorter handled saute pan with a metal "helper" handle on the opposite side. It is fairly deep and has the honeycomb bottom.

I've worked with this a couple of times now. Excellent at browning and cooking mushrooms and vegetables for sauces - easy to control the temperature, and the amount of heat you want to deliver. It's hard to overstate the value of the cast iron for this kind of work.

For cleanup, it was surprisingly easy to clean up. I had some worries about the honeycomb bottom being difficult to clean, but even with hashbrowns it was pretty easy to soak and clean it up.

Longevity is unknown, I've only had it a week, but every Staub item I've had has been extremely well made and have had no troubles at all.

"Can't beat QPR for this skillet", This is an incredible purchase for this type of quality. The only negative is that I find the handle to be too long and it is not as easy to store as other skillets. Love that it is enamel and cooks wonderfully.

"How have I managed all these years without this pan?????", I just recently purchased this pan in the pimento red. OMG, it is beautiful, heavy, highest quality, and best of all it cooks like a dream. This is the first pan I have owned that I can actually get hot enough, without issues, to sear a piece of meat in. I did use a bit of olive oil to season the pan. Fish did stick a bit, but I was using tongs rather than a spatula. What a quality pan, for such a ridiculously low price, $40 for this, incredible deal! I will be back for more pieces from Staub. I thought I wanted the other brand, but now I know I don't. Be warned...it is one heavy pan! In case you are wondering, it holds six quarts of liquid. I could not be any happier with a purchase.
