"Great Product, Incorrect Description", This is a great pan, and the picture is 100% correct; the description is completely wrong. So, first, what it is and is not: This is a cast iron skillet/open saute pan with a honeycombed, enameled cooking surface. It comes without a lid (fine by me, but not accurate to description), and is in no way a "French oven" or "Dutch oven" as described. That said, this pan works wonderfully for my purposes. It provides very even heat distribution, sears meat very nicely, and provides good release when cooking is done; in many ways, it works as an improved grill pan with more surface contact. The enameled surface provides easier cleanup than bare cast iron. However, if you plan to do any braising or the like after initial searing, you will need to find another pan or a lid that will work on this one. And, unless you have super-human strength, you probably do not want to be using this heavy cast-iron pan with the traditional "saute" technique of moving the pan to flip veggies. Also, got it on a great "Friday Sale" deal--prices vary 2-3 fold depending on day.
