Others say...

"Envy of Others"
Cup surprises others when used - we love the concept.
The lid does stain after only a bit of use.
Would love to know if lids are sold separately so we could plan to use this for a long time.

"pretty cool"
Great product - very unique - love that I no longer waste a paper cup every day at work! It's a BIT small (10 oz tops) and it's kinda weird drinking off a rubber top, but you get used to it. And the other reviewers are right: coffee stains the rubber top inside. But all in all, a neat item!

"Decent mug"
I was mainly looking for a re-usable mug with a lid that could go in the dishwasher that wasn't too dorky looking. This fits the bill nicely. It's actually sort of a conversation-starter, if that appeals to you. Downsides are 1) Capacity - it only holds 8 oz.. and 2) insulating capability is ok but not great... nowhere near a traditional stainless steel insulated travel mug but better than a paper cup. I do like being able to dishwasher it, though. Is that a word?

"Lid not that great..."
The lid had no air hole and has an unpleasant smell when it gets warm.

"Wonderful!"
This cup is absolutely wonderful! It has fooled a few people in the last month.

I have only two minor issues.
1: The silicone lid is beginning to stain on the underside.
2: Once in a while the lid leaks while drinking.

What our customer's say!

"Best travel mug by far", "I am not a Paper Cup" is double walled, maybe not as thermal as double-walled stainless, but still keeps coffee hot longer than a regular ceramic cup. The lid fits perfectly and is much more pleasant to sip from compared to the hard plastic lids. It fits every single car cup holder perfectly. To get the desired volume, fill to the very top, as the lid is absolutely dribble proof. Best thing, it is ceramic, not metal or plastic. I can't wait till they have it in dark brown and some funky patterns.

"Cool design, but...", The design is cool, but...
1) the cup gets too hot to handle in some places
2) it's heavy

"I wouldn't Know", I wouldn't know what this product is like - it never arrived. They had to just issue a refund.

"Great cup made of safe material", I bought this cup after working as a chemist in a lab. There, I learned how much plastic can slough off containers and cups, especially at high temperatures. Even though no links have been made between ingesting most plastics at small doses and health, I'd rather not ingest it. The cup is ceramic, a material that does not slough off. The lid is made of silicone, the same thing that covers baby spoons.
Unlike the previous reviewer, my cup has a hole on the lid through which you can drink (although it's more convenient to drink without the lid).
I addition, it can contain 12 ounces- the same size as a Tall cup at Starbucks. So go ahead and ask the barista there to make your drink in it.

"Great idea...but mine leaks", This thing looks great...smell from the lid disappears after the first day or so. Biggest problem is that it *does* leak from around the silicone lid. To be honest this one thing is seriously making me consider stopping using it as my mug of choice...very annoying as in all other respects it's perfect.

"Environmentally Friendly, Functional, Work of Art", I have been eyeballing this thing for a while, but just could not justify buying an $18 coffee travel mug.

I finally caved...

I had gotten frustrated by the fact that I accumulate an average of 4 or 5 Styrofoam cups a day on my desk.

I wanted to be more environmentally responsible. I can use this cup as a regular and a travel mug, so it is versatile.

I also cannot stand drinking coffee out of plastic, rubber, or steel travel mug. I am sensitive (ok i am a taste snob), and I can taste the plastic and metal in the coffee. NOT in this porcelain vessel; all you taste is the coffee.

The other thing is the aesthetic qualities. This thing is functional art. I love the beauty and the symbolic duality it represents of disposable vs reusable. The thing is quirky.

Ok, maybe I am over-analyzing this; it's only a cup. But I am glad I purchased it.

The only thing is, if it slips out of my hand it will shatter. Fragile.

So as long as I am cautious this thing is a good life-time investment in good tasting coffee and helping environment by reducing disposable cup usage.

"A cup AND a conversation piece", This product really does look like an actual paper cup, to the point of startling people with its un-paperlike sound when you set it down. For these reasons, it's an excellent conversation piece, or starter, or ice breaker at the office.

The cup itself is approximately the same size as a so-called "Grande" paper cup at Starbucks (or "Medium" anywhere else). At 10 ounces, however, it holds far less coffee -- less even that that in a Starbucks "Tall" (or "Small"). The reason for this is the large amount of insulation in the cup.

Other than that, the cup does its job. The one complaint I have is that the rubber lid gets easily stained; make sure to wash it frequently and completely.

One last note: for some reason Amazon rates this product as a "toy," and therefore asks reviewers to rate its durability, "fun-ness," and educational value. Hence my attempts at reviewing for such aspects.

"This is the cup/mug I have been looking for!", This cup/mug is exactly what I have been looking for. I love coffee and am somewhat of a mug collector. Until I purchased this mug yesterday, everything has either been a good mug for home or ok for the car but nothing has been good for both. This mug is great all around. Nice lip around the edge when drinking without the lid, white so I can see the quality of coffee (for those that know, you know...), nice heft to it, double walled construction for insulation....perfect!

"I like it", I AM Not a Paper Cup is great. I like it lots. My only complaint --- the silicone lid is getting stained, after using it for just 2 weeks. Still, I like it. Anyone know how to get the stains out? I do NOT want to use bleach on it --- any other ideas? Still, buy it, you'll like it.

"1 month of use", I'll start with the questions I'm asked most often when someone discovers that I am a "I am not a paper cup" owner:
- Q: Does the lid fall off?
A: The only time it has fallen off was when I took a sharp turn and the cup fell out of the cup holder which was already filled with odds and ends.

- Q: Does the lid leak around the edges?
A: No, not at all.

- Q: Does it get too hot when filled with a hot beverage?
A: Nope. Not in the slightest. The double chambered wall does the job just fine.

- Q: Does it get flavors "stuck" in it (e.g. coffee)?
A: No they do not. This is why I've long been seeking a porcelain travel mug.

Now I'll address my personal concerns when I first bought it:
- I was afraid the textured surface of the outside would gradually stain with coffee and grime that would rub off my hand, but this has not yet happened. It did take a small purple spot for a while when it got rubbed up against something, but that eventually disappeared.

- There's no air hole in the lid. This confused me to no end. Before my first use, I was constantly looking for a little hole along the lip or on the top because I was sure I had simply not seen it the last 3 times I had looked. The fact is that the lid is flexible enough to allow you to draw liquid from the cup without problem. This also limits the quantity you can take, but not significantly over the average lid of a paper cup.

- There's a rubber plug on the bottom of the cup. I was tempted to pull it out to see if I could find a prize when I realized that the plug is probably there for a reason. I read the packaging and discovered that this plug keeps liquid from entering the chamber of air between the two layers of porcelain.

I've been on a long quest for a quality ceramic mug and this guy hits the mark wonderfully. I've been recommending them to anyone who takes an interest.
