Others say...
"Not worth $40, but had to try it." So i was looking for a portable misting fan and came across this one. read the other reviews and thought it just may be good enough for the price. Really its just ok. It will cool you down if you sit no further than 5 feet away but be ready to get a little wet (which in the summer may not be so bad). The water misting will only last 1 hour ( i timed it) not 8 hours like it advertised. The fans are ok would work well as desk fan or in a small room. So is it worth $40? Nope. if Amazon drops the price to like $20 then id say buy it but i guess to some degree you always get what you pay for. "Ok for a very limited misting area" This is a great idea that has some value but falls short in a few key areas. It is nice as a fan, two fans. The top one swivels left and right the bottom one up and down. You do not get full movement from either. As just a fan it works fine. But most people are going to be using this for misting. Unfortunately the misting does not go very far or very wide. They needed to make this a more powerful-wider sprayer and would have been a very good product. Also O2cool does make some products with built-in rechargeable batteries. If they had done that here even raising the price a bit it would have been a lot better value since most people will buy this for being outdoor at kids sporting events, picnics, and camping etc. The water bottle that comes with it with a unique top is not wide enough for ice (unless small shards of crushed ice), which is an additional drawback. Certainly not a bad product and given the limited choices in portable misting fans. I would recommend it if you can deal with the limited misting area and the need for batteries to make it portable. Rechargable D batteries are kind of a pain, so it would have rocked to have had the built in ones. "Very cool" Glad to have this at my son's baseball games...especially effective on hot days with no wind. "Great Fan! Keeps me cool!" What a great fan! Someone thought up a great product for those of us with small decks in apartments!!! I have a tiny deck and this fan fits perfectly in the corner and keeps me cool on a hot, hot day! "What a handy n neat little verstile fan!" I LIKE THIS ITEM! What makes it so nifty is it works on a car charger,(included) regular a/c (included) OR D batteries! 3 different power sources in one make it very portable and usable in different situations. The fans themselves are small yet its quite powerful and you can angle the bottom fan up or down and the top one left to right..the mist comes out in the middle and is VERY cooling and refreshing, (esp if u used chilled water) Now it does say that the misting last for some ridicules amount of time like 10 hours. That's wrong, you have to fill up the bottle about every hour to 2 hours and SOMETIMES esp on the intermittent misting feature it will stop misting and u have the give the bottle a little twist or tap. Still though living in HOT n HUMID FL I find it's an item I cannot live without and on dryer days it doubles as a humidifier, have used in the house and as long as your not setting it next to electronics it doesn't get anything soaking or dripping wet. Also a great item to cool off your car on a hot day and even ad to the a/c. And the the D battery feature is portable enough to take outside for gardening, to cool pets and great for power outages-storms etc. My only little complainants is I the black plastic fans seem a little cheap-I wouldn't adjust them a lot and I believe the ad or box say they oscillate and they don't, you have to manually adjust them into position and like I said the water/misting isn't as advertised for how long it lasts and does clog every now and again and just an FYI it's pretty noisy esp, when misting (but that doesn't bother me) and I would have to say item is easily 20 bucks over priced, if it were not for that I would have given it 5 stars. BUT EVEN at the listed price its a practical and versatile and EFFECTIVE item and I highly recommend. I don't camp but it would be PERFECT for camping! I can think of MANY uses for this item! I do want to update my review over year later here in May 2010. I did have to send the first one back as it stopped misting in a short period of time. The seller did ship another one out pronto and it worked great. On my second fan, after many months of use and a bump or two being moved here and there, the top fan stopped working, tho it still mists and the bottom fan works. And now that Ive had it I have many times wanted to put ice in the water jug and you cant as the cap is too small, chilled water does work fine. Still tho I am a believer in this product for personal use/power outages (its been a real livesaver as I HATE being HOT) Ive also noted that the price has gone up even more since I bought mine. THE PRICE IS A TOTAL RIP FOR WHAT IT IS. Dont get me wrong, I still love it and use it, and wanted to buy another one, BUT NOT AT THIS PRICE. This fairly needs to be in the 20 to 30 dollar price range! Still a good product to have around but keep in mind its tall and small and meant for ONE PERSON ONLY sitting right in front of it.

What our customer's say! "Do not Buy", I got this and it work fine for 3 days and stopped misting. They sent a new one and it does not work at all. Do not Buy! "2 didn't work on batteries!", I just bought this at a local Dick's Sporting Goods and it would not work on batteries. The batteries were new and I tested each one - perfect. Double checked the placement of all and made sure were in tight - still not working on batteries. Works fine on electric but I bought it to use on my apartment patio. I noticed one of the ends of the removable battery compartment had no flat metal conductor piece on one of the negative ends so I returned it to the store. The other one in the store was also missing this piece but I figured would exchange it and give it a try. WRONG....the replacement worked only on electric, not battery power! Gander Mt. has had one on display so I checked out and again - missing the flat metal piece for one of the negative ends. I'm not sure if this is a defect or if there was a problem with the wiring - but on 2?! Well I'll use it today and tomorrow because in Upstate NY it's over 90 deg. and then return it Monday. I do not recomment this product :-( "Mister?", Such a great idea, such poor execution. Had to send the first one back as the pump was very loud. The second is quiet but the mister plugs after just a few minutes. It clears easily with a piece of small wire - just kind of a hassle. "Good Idea but ......", I bought this fan from somewhere else about a year ago. I compete with my dog in dog agility and keeping dogs cool in Southern California heat is a very big concern so when I saw this fan, I was really excited about it - wow! a fan and mister together - what a great idea! Running on batteries was a super big plus as when you are under a canopy in the middle of a park, having a 12V outlet is not really an option. Anyway, to make a short story even shorter, the first time I used this fan, the mister quit working within 20 minutes. I shook it, wobbled it, emptied and refilled the water reservoir - nothing in the way of mist. While the fans are nice, the weight with all the batteries required made it kinda dumb to use as just a fan with no mister not to mention that at near $60, expensive for a battery operated fan. So back it went. When I returned it, the store manager said that he had been getting quite a few of them back for the same reason. Too bad, a great idea but it just didn't work for me. "I JUST OPENED THE BOX .WHAAAAT?THEN I PLUGED IT IN.WHAT A PEICE OF?!!!", After opening and plunging this fan in i could not weight but give my thoughts about this product. It is out of my character to leave such a rude comment. All in all my first thoughts while purchaseing this fan was thinking about what a cool little contraption.First off after opening the box the fan is realy cheap,my first thoughts were i could find this at the dallar thrift store. It reminds me of a fake toy fan like a barbie toy kitchen set.Mechanical parts are cheap there is only one speed setting and the tiny motors hardly give off anything, noisy flimsy fan,and did i mention the mister dont even work.If i were to have only spent 20 bucks for this thing i would not complain but no it was 60 dallars.I recomend not to buy this product. It is a good idea but way overpriced and cheap as you know what.Fans have one speed push botton on and off.Another push button to turn mister on and runs 10 sec on 20 sec off. When i use mist on this one all it does is bubble out of the back resevoir.I tried to prime it with no success.I writing this because i got ripped off and nobody likes that so take my advise and dont purchase this item. There are a list of improvements that can be made to make it worth its money.First off built in battery preferably a lipo and stronger fan motors like brushless. And a mister that actually works and possible ascilating fans. This thing is just crap and i know my sh@# when it comes to the build of these products. This is an update.Last night i pulled the unit apart and took it apon my self to fix the mister. The problem was inside the misting tip, pulled it apart took the tip out pulled top out of tip and manovered it till finaly it started mistin. Now it is misting ok,it works.I will not change my rating only because its overpriced for its poor quality in materials and function.I expect a lot out of 60 dallars. This is worth 20 its cheap. For this price I was thinking something on the lines of the quality of a coleman camping product. This thing dont even come close...veary fragile and limited performance. But its nice to have if the power goes out on a hot day or to cool down a an indoor garden. ![]()
