"Warm & Comfy" I ordered 2 for my house and several Throws for gifts and everyone loves them. At almost a year old and several washings later they are in fabulous shape and still comfy as heck. "Sheds Feathers Quickly and is COLD to the Touch!" I bought this product last winter (2007) because of the many good reviews. I would NOT recommend it for purchase because it loses it's feathers *very* quickly and becomes incapable of trapping warm air. After one season and one washing, I have a very flat product that is 'linty' with feathers. Also, the throw is made of a material that retains the cold temperature of the room around it (unlike a fleece wrap). When you first wrap yourself in it - BE PREPARED FOR THE SHOCK OF HOW COLD THE WRAP ITSELF IS! It can be very unpleasant (like crawling under cold bedsheets in the middle of winter) until your body heat warms the wrap up. The size is good, but this is definitely *not* a product worth $20. The wrap is supposed to keep *you* warm, not you keep *it* warm. O "Fantastic deal when on sale" These throws/wraps are fantastic! The soft, sueded fabric is one side of the baffled shell that encases the perfect amount of down for a super light, yet cuddly throw. I wish I'd bought more when they were on sale! They're just the right size for a quick nap, or to curl up on the couch with while reading a good book. They're lighter than down blankets (also great things to buy) and look great thrown casually over the corner of a couch or chair. I bought two-one chocolate and one sage colored one and found that guests love them too. I'm hoping for a sale soon so I can stock the rest of my house. "Price" Why are some of the reviewers here touting this item at 10.99, while its being sold on Amazon for 30.00? "Better Than Expected" I bought two of these when Amazon had them on sale. I cannot remember the exact price now, but I got a good deal. I thought for the price that they would not last very long. I have had them for a couple of years now and they have held up well. My dog likes to take one of them in the colder months, so I have washed them repeatedly, and they still look good. A word of warning about these blankets, since they are microsuede they produce a lot of static. I wish this brand would make a cotton version, like the larger bed size down blankets, for that reason. Cotton would eliminate the static and would be more year round.

What our customer's say! "Pike Street Throw - There are two kinds!", I just recieved my new Pike Street throws I bought in the Black Friday sale for $9.99. I also have the previous version which was sold 2006/2007. The reviews of this time period, of which I am one with 5 stars, were for the original throw. They were packaged in a white plastic bag. They were 50 X 70 inches. The new throws come in a clear plastic zippered bag and are 50 x 60 inches. The new throw colors have different names: Camel, Olive, Espresso, and Brick instead of Beige, Green, and Chocolate. If you see throws with the old names, I believe they will be more expensive. The new throws have a small rolled edge instead of the flat stitched edge. The stitching across the throw to make squares is farther apart in the new throws, making the squares larger. This could cause bunching after washing but I haven't washed them yet and cannot say for sure. The top 'suede-like' top fabric feels the same as the original throws and I find it very soft and appealing. The underside fabric is not as nice in the new throws. It is thinner and slicker. The old throw's underside fabric was more textured, almost slightly fuzzy feeling. I like the feeling of the old ones much better. I recieved the Camel, Olive and Brick and compared them to the Beige, Green, and Chocolate old throws. The thickness of the throws and the feel of the insides are the same. There is a slippery feel when you squeeze the insides between your fingers. I assume this is the poly-fill and the 'gel' that is supposed to be inside. So, it boils down to two different throws. The new ones have rolled edges, less stitching, a less pleasant (but not UNpleasant) backing fabric, and is 10 inches shorter. I rated the new throws 4 stars instead of 5 because of the smaller size and less pleasant feel. "Warm but a little thin", This was a great buy for $10-15. only complaint is that they are thinner than I wished, but if you pair this blanket up with a fleece blanket you will be plenty warm. I would compare this blanket to ones I found at Ikea for 40 dollars. I recommend this good deal here on Amazon.com. "Excellent item, Great Price.", WE have gone through a lot of these throw's...my kids just love them. I am, in fact, writing this review before even receiving this item. WHY, because we have owned this particular one for a long time and 2 other colors also... They TAKE abuse, keep the kids warm, and feel very very cuddly. These are regulars in our home and thus I wanted to let everyone know that it is a great product at a great AMAZON price..... Enjoy! Happy Holidays. "so warm!", This is such a light small comforter, that at first I was very disappointed. However, when I actually slept with it I realized that it is incredibly warm! I love it and would recommend it to anybody. "SO SOFT~!!!", Its nice and soft, but I wish it came in different (larger) sizes including for my Queen size bed. Also, its made with Polyester it does not breathe through nor healthy as 100% cotton. Its nice sofa if you want to take it to the Stadium or back seat of your car for "emergency". It is good for everyday mostly out door use. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Wonderful throw", I wish I had known what a great throw these are and would buy more. They are not a bed sized blanket, but are great for watching TV, late nights at the computer, or even when watching sporting events outdoors. I wouldn't use it to sit on, but over legs or shoulders, it provides quite a bit of warmth. Best of all, they are machine washable. "My Mom loves this!", I bought one of these for my mom. She is always cold and covering with blankets even in summer because my dad sets the AC too cold. This blanket is lightweight and very soft. I think I am going to buy one for myself! "Very nic", I bought this for my mother-in-law for Christmas. It is perfect for when she sits outside in the cool air to read. I wish I had bought one for myself! "Great Cover Up", A gorgeous, comfortable blanket. Incredible for the price! Great buy, I would recommend. It's very soft and very warm. Great length too. "Love this throw", Pike Street Wrap-Around Comfort Throw, Beige I have at least 5 of these throws and have given 10 away as appreciated gifts. I wish the price would come back down. They are wonderful, warm, washable, tasteful throws, but it felt magical when I could get one for $19.99, or - be still my heart - $10.99. |
