"Handy, yes; Instant, no.", The Wise and Great Oracle was right: You've just gotta have one of these in the kitchen (or near the Barby). But don't take the 'instant' too literally: There's a lag (albeit small) between insertion and display. No big deal unless, like me, you singe your hand and arm hair the first time you use it. That experience sped up the learning curve a bit! For the second reading I donned an asbestos and Nomex pot holder. (Kidding!)
Great tool, readable and easy to calibrate. The clip on the cap allows for shirt pocket convenience while acting as an extender when inserted on the opposite side. Easy to clean. However, it looks delicate enough and it will likely require a little care not to crush, spindle or mutilate.

"Easy to use, accurate", This instant thermometer is small, fast and easy to use. It even has a calibrate function (using ice). I used it on thick steaks on a barbeque and they came out perfect.
